Ok, first off, the Solstice and SKY's have known issues with the E-Brake cable needing to be tightened as over time the cable expands/stretches. I have the same issue with my SKY and need to take it to the dealer to have them readjust the cable. This can happen to many makes of cars... But putting the car in gear will stop this.
heh doesnt anyone go to driver's ed anymore? they drill it into your head that you always point the front tires of the car toward the curb so that if it rolls it bumps into the curb and hopefully stops.
and yeah you use the parking brake that is what its for after all.
Got the same problem with my s10 blazer... has to be left in first gear with parking brake on. Little 2.8 wont hold it in higher gears and the parking brake is horrible...needs to be fixed.
When you have a car that has an exremely small motor like this solstice does, they will roll. The weight of the car can easily turn the little motors internals and move the car. Pretty funny. The idiot should probably use his e-brake.
Yeah, instead of taking the time to video it, hoping it would roll back into something, you could have easily found a stick, rock, or something and put it behind one of the rear wheels. BTW Solstice's ROCK! They are VERY nice cars!
I remember during drivers ed we were taught when parking uphill to away from the curb, downhill towards the curb. So if something like this happens it would simply bump into the curb, simple huh plus first gear with a parking brake on should have no problems
Nice of you to chock it. I have a Solstice and like most parking brakes, it doesn't work near as well backwards as forwards, so he might have had it on, and out of gear.
What did a girl pull up on the e brake?

got the same quirk, I did adjust the hand brake once already, seems like a 2nd time is needed now.

This is a good example of why you should set the handbrake as well as leaving the car in gear, or selecting Park.

A shame it didn't actually roll down the hill and smash into something. I would have just let it take its course. Or pushed it myself, lol

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Solctice are cheap cars and cheap made.. thats the results you will get out of a poor manufactor car...

You're an idiot. Obviously the guy left it in gear and the hill was too steep for compression to hold it.
And learn how to spell.

Thats what PARKING brakes are for. What a tool. Nothing like turning the motor backwards.
