Sure he could act like a mental patient behind the kit, filling songs with unnecessary fills, time changes, confounding beats, etc. but his playing is tasteful and always what the songs require. Ventor, on the other hand, is a crap drummer, always has been, always will be. Don't let ProTools fool you... he's still shit.

Triggers are little like censors that alot of metal drummers put on their bass heads to get a nice thick punch outta the bass drum. There just for sound. Also, to get this punch, you don't have to hit as hard with your foot. Alot fast guys use it.

So bascially, there censors on a bass head (Or any head for that matter) that give a punch when you hit the drum. :)
