  • sugeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • DEAR SANTA 2012

  • EYE OF SAURON!

  • I WANT a divergence meter now >_<

  • I want one of these JUST to make a Divergence Meter

  • OMG , i hate you !! , i want so much one of these T..T

  • How to digital control tube's lightness?

  • @kgamecarter here is C source of firmware of my divergence meter: pastebin[ dot ]com/fiTDLduj

look at lines 45, 48 and 102, there is delays in microseconds. First two delays (250us, 350us) tells to controller how long nixie tubes are in turn-off state, it's neccesary to prevent "cross-output" of numbers. Third delay (900us) holds nixie tube in turn-on state. If you change this value, nixie will change lightness. But be careful, very long delays can cause blinking.

  • @2ad10man thx. I had idea.

    でも数か少ないから高い^^;

  • use TLP521 is OK?

  • @kgamecarter TLP627

  • @kgamecarter No, TLP521 have collector-emitter voltage only 55V. Nixie anodes needs 170V - 180V supply. Find optocoupler with at least 200V C-E voltage. And one more detail: these optocouplers are very slow, look at switching characteristics. TLP627 have 50us turn-on time, and 80us (!!!) turn-off time. If you find more fast optocoupler, tell me, I'll be happy)

  • @2ad10man but I test TLP521-2 & TLP521-4 on 170V nixie tube. It's work fine all days.No crash.

    Just Lucky !!?

  • @kgamecarter hmmm, actually, when optocoupler is "off", nixie is "off" too, and nixie have infinite resistance in this state, when optocoupler turned on, nixie turns on too and voltage drop on optocoupler not exceeds 55V, but this is true if we neglect transient processes. So, maybe you just lucky and short transient process don't kills the optocouplers. I don't sure about this.

  • @2ad10man I found why TLP521 was able to work.

TLP521 use 170V will be breakdown. That right.

But the new Electrical Characteristics is fine after breakdown.

LED turn-off, Detector leak 30V to Nixie. Nixie OFF.

LED turn-on, Detector 170V to Nixie. Nixie ON.

    (゚∀゚)b

  • I want this.

  • @13wonders

You can purchase similar one at Yahoo! Aucution Japan.(But Japanese only)

  • 0:41, as much a fan as I am, I orgasmed.

That pace, that perfect syncing. Love it.

  • 0 dislikes, I'm glad SERN hasnt found out about it.

  • do you have published schematics for this? I would love to make one of my own. What functions does it have? (divergence meter, clock, etc)

  • @ifyoure555thenim666 ttp://sgepk.blogspot.com/

    sorry,japanese

  • @kousakat Thank You!

  • Jesus, 2:34 . We just entered the Beta World Line.

  • @Tien416 Don't you mean, back into α-world line?

  • @winternight119 Naw man, the one they were in at the beginning was the Beta World Line, 0.something would be the Alpha World Line.

  • Sir? We just crossed the 1% Divergence...

  • Divergence Meter... IT'S SO COOL SONUVA@#$&!!!

  • 0:47 I'm sure that read something different last time I saw it

  • wuaaa i want to have one *-*

  • holy shit. This thing uses 170V for it's power supply.. Disregarding the schematic, the whole overall system looks awesome! :D Can you tell me how much the entire project was overall? I might consider creating this myself. Since the blog is in Japanese, I can't really tell.

  • @RasenganV99 Please guess from material and a circuit diagram. I think that it understands since it is a part number.

  • so jelly

  • Alpha as fuck.

  • Does anyone know the model of the tubes used for this?

  • Are the numbers actually changing that quickly?

Fuck, I'd buy this for a decent amount.

  • Mad Scientist SO COOL!

  • This might be the coolest thing I've ever seen!!

  • WOW.... that's freaking awesome! time to build one... :D

  • this divergence meter is mad awesome.

  • @kousakat

    Arigatou~

    And it's japanese LOL.

    Time for Translators xD

  • @kousakat can you give me the exact schematics for you Divergence Meter?

    onegai~~

  • @HalfuBoiledTamago ttp://sgepk.blogspot.com/2009/12/blog-post_12.html

But it is the work of amateur.

  • nice, what micro controller you're using. from your previous vids looks like you're using an RTC for time keeping

  • I'm so jelly I'm dying.

  • there are many nixie clocks on ebay

  • @UrsusDominatusDeNus This isnt a nixie clock. He's using it as a divergence meter. Its way cooler than a clock.

  • DIY!!

  • @kousakat how did you make that it was amazing!

  • HOW MUCH/??

    i want to get one

  • wow! crazy staff!
