I went to the doctor Tuesday and got ear drops. It's Friday morning and the pain hasn't gotten better. I've been taking pain pills every four hours. This is probably the worst pain in my life. Does anyone know how long I should wait to go back and tell them it's not working? I'm scared. My eardrum is POUNDING. Feels like a heart beat. And I can't sleep more than 2 hours at a time. Bathing is also difficult. I've been taking baths. Someone help? :(

I got the ear drops and it only stopped hurting for 30 min, so i told my grandma and she put a garlic clove in my ear, it burned for 15 min because the garlic starts killing the bacteria. it helps the pain instantly,

@ihatebobsaget1989 I know me too. Your swimmers ear most likely went to an ear infection. Go to your doctor and see if you can get antibiotic also take some ibprofin and ear drop that helped me a little bit with the pain.

I have a Swimmers Ear right now, I put in some prescripted ear drops, and laid down flat on the ear to drain it after an hour,and I found a popped bump in there, and it was swollen, it burst on it own, and slowly dripped out blood, so I laid down, put in some Dragonball Z dvds, and waited. I ended up falling asleep, waking up, my ear was clean, empty, and I had no more swimmers ear.

I got swimmer's ear last Friday. I kept fucking around like an idiot, sticking Q-tips in my ear, trying to get some of the blood, pus and earwax out, and I only made it magnitudes worse. Needless to say, I experienced the WORST fucking pain ever in my life. My ear felt like it was literally being pulled apart from within. I'm just now starting to get better, and I NEVER want to fucking experience it again.

I ended up getting a slight cold right after fourth of July and then I went to the hospital yesterday morning when the inside of my ear started paining really bad and i couldn't even hear which meant i couldn't get any sleep =( turns out I have Swimmer's Ear (Otitis Externa)..I was prescribed to 2 different kinds of eardrops, one for pain and the other for the infection. Amoxicillin pills and Tylenol w/ Codeine. Hopefully it'll get better and go away real soon, it freaking hurts and i hate it!

soooo. I have swimmers ear infection right now. this is my second time in 8 months and no fun. I highly recommend ADVIL PM take 2 of them. they not only do wonders for the pain but they get you some good good sleep. also try sitting in the sun or using a heating pad etc. on your ear area. My doc prescribed me vicodin which i have to take 2 cuz it hurts so bad but they make me kinda goofy so i just use advil PM which i really highly advise you to do. it will work i promise. p.s. keep the ear up!

I'm just now getting better from the swimmer's ear infection I got last Friday, and the pain got so severe at times that I almost cried. At its peak, the pain literally drove me laughing mad for several minutes. Swimmer's ear is actually pretty fucking horrible... Some of the worst pain I have ever experienced, and I've felt a couple pretty bad things in my time.

u need to call ur doctor and ask for a prescription, the doctor might give u a prescription and tell u to pick it up at a local pharmacy or he or she might want to see u and take a look at ur ear. just tell ur parents to call ur doctor. ur welcome. :)
