@paskatefan That's how I learned about Allan Sherman. I like the videos of his TV appearances; the Tonight Show clips are sort of a cross between Woody Allen and Andy Kaufman!
This is the EDITED VERSION. The original version had the phrase "statue of a NAKED LADY with a clock..." for the 5th day. It was sensored by the publishers -- thank you so much for ruining the original content!
apparently the person who disliked this song was jealous because all of the stuff that Allan got and then exchanged was the stuff they really wanted for Christmas but didn't get
@WarBandit111 - Apparently I'm not the only one who listens to that channel. I think I've heard this song before. Very funny. Now if I could only learn the lyrics well.
Love this song - listen to it every year, ever since I was fortunate enough to find for sale "Dr Demento Presents ... The Greatest Christmas Novelty CD of ALL TIME"!!! It also has Wierd Al's 'Christmas at Ground Zero', 'I Want Hippopotamus for Christmas', and . . . wait for it . . . 'Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer'!!!
When this song was written, all Japanese electronics were pieces of crap that broke easily if they worked at all. That all changed in the eighty's, but this song is still timeless nevertheless.
@mechanicalmagician - the hinkiness was intentional....it was supposed to be funny. Sad thing is, now that I've had to tell you that it was supposed to be funny, it's no longer funny. =(
Haha, I can't believe you found pictures of all those things! (Not that I'd know what some of them look like anyway, haha.) I thought the butterfly was hilarious, but putting the others in randomly was a little confusing.
Allan Sherman was an absolute genius at what he did, and what he did, he did better than anybody. The first time I heard this, going on 20 years ago, was on my car radio, and I started laughing so hard I almost wonged into the car in front of me. Seriously.
The original version of this recording goes "Statue of a Naked Lady with a Clock where her Stomach aught to be" in this version they cut that line "Naked Lady" out
the one person who disliked this got this stuff for christmas

Eh, this is lame. It's so dated, the humor is as awful as Bob Hope and David Brenner.

Why does the video go all hinky around 2:32? I mean the photos don't match the song any more ... other then that it was good.
