I agree with him, at least on the Kyouya-->Tamaki half. I always felt that his feelings for Haruhi were initially more of an extension/appreciation of what Tamaki felt for her. He accepted Haruhi and watched out for her, in his strange way, because it was so clear how hard Tamaki was falling for her. Over time though, he came to appreciate Haruhi on her own terms, but I like to imagine Tamaki as the center of his priorities. It's a nice contrast to how Haruhi is so central to everyone else.

I must agree with his assessment, actually. If their backstory episode is any indication, it would seem Kyouya and Tamaki have forged a bromance of epic proportions simply from their contrasting personalities--Blue Oni and Red Oni, etc. But Haruhi is also a very fascinating subject for Kyouya with her intelligence and insight that seem to be a rarity in Ouran's female population. (Or population in general, come to think of it...)
