I have inexpensive jeans for 5 years now and they are fine. But I agree cheap shoes suck! The comfort and shelf life of higher end shoes are better! Shoes and skincare are usually worth the money...

Great video but When buying clothes/ shoes you must look at the material. I shop at dillards alot my favorite store. I have bought shoes for $120.00 that tore up after 4 wearings. So sometimes you paying for the name. I bought sum jeans for 35.00 I'm still wearing them 3 years later.

I always use the cost per wear calculations when deciding if I want to buy an item. Imy Tory Burch Reva flats were pretty pricey, but I'm still wearing all of my prs 3 yrs later. At this point, I ve gotten my monies worth.

The only thing I'd have to disagree on is that price doesn't necessarily mean 'quality' sometimes you're simply just paying for the brand name itself. I've had jeans that only cost $10 but they've lasted me 2 years now and still counting. However some jeans I've paid a lot more for and they ended up lasting me less than a year, if that.

I think at the end of the day you have to look at the 'quality' of the product itself (materials, etc.), not the price, or the name brand. Same goes for shoes.

I think that the basics of your formula make sense, however, you fail to see that a higher price does not necessarily mean better quality. For instance, I have shirts that I paid under $5 for at forever 21 and have worn them pry 75+ times and they are still going strong.

TIP: When buying designer jeans, I always get them at stores like TJMaxx. Usually they sell for about $50 there for Sevens, True Religion, Joes, J Brand, Paige, etc. Then I wait for the clearance events and then pick them up. I've gotten $15 Seven for All Mankind, $20 J Brands, and $25 bejeweled True Religions, all in nice boot/straight cuts and dark washes. I tend to avoid the icky odd washes.

I love the COST PER WEAR formula. I've been using it for years. That's one of the ways I justify purchases to my husband (tee-hee-hee). Often when I've gotten down to the cost per wear ratio = free, I will donate the items to Salvation Army, Domestic Violence or homeless family shelters. My guilt is greatly reduced.

Informative video however there is such a thing as expensive cheaply made thing but very high end designers. Good thing is you can normally get these things repaired at the store or returned without an issue however they were still cheaply made. I have had this issue.

@beautyfyable08 Great question! You can wash or dry clean, however when you wash them just skip the dryer and allow them to air dry or simply set your dryer setting to the lowest heat. ;)
