@stgarp85 its easy you just drop the low E string to a certain point then you can hammer on and bring the tuning back up, make sure you have a good ear for tuning otherwise you wont be able to bring it back to correct tuning.

Well its a bit of a trade off, obviously hes not the best writter in the world, if your looking for the best writter in the world your asking for Phil X to be Bob Dylan, Kurt Cobain, Neil Young, etc and thats really not fair.

@pmaicol He's actually hitting the low E and pressing down on the string between the tuning machine and the nut to raise the pitch. It will go back pretty close to where it was before.

It depends on how you play. Phil himself put it best. "Ear training is the best way to learn music, because you can learn ways to reach complicated chords easier" if you play it the Eddie Van Halen way with your hands all over the place, then NO its not possible to sing at the same time.

One of my fav. songs from Van Halen. You may as well have recorded it and not Eddie. That's how good it was. Ice Cream Man would be something else very exciting for you to play and/or sing. You rock and make me feel good about myself, somehow . haha Just so happy all the time. I'd like to play like you some day. Been playing for 5 years now.
