You can't call any of the legends "irrelevant" because they are the pioneers who paved the way for young dancers such as myself. Don't get me wrong, I do like a lot of what I see from the new generation, but they will never really have anything on their predecessors.

Para mí, cuando lo ví por primera vez en el cine en el año 1983 fué y seguirá siendo en mis recuerdos el Pelé del Breakdance, el Bruce Lee de ésta movida que empezó como una moda, pero que hoy por hoy es todo un movimiento que ha crecido muchísimo en buena hora. Taco among many others were hired and well paid by Mr. Jackson by their own free will and Pop N Taco was heavily involved with various dance routines for a lot of MJ´s work, incl at Disneyland when he did the 3D thing. Michael Jackson was already a very good dancer before he met these guys and Jeffrey Daniels never invented the backglide wrongly called the moonwalk, cause backslides and slides were originally from old tap dancing. Bro.

@md0206 Speak truth on it. There is a movie called Cabin In The Sky and in it is a dance scene where one of the men dancing does the glide, the movie came out in 1943. In any form, the dance has been around for a long time. Jeffery Daniels didn't make it up, but he did make it swing. If you want to see some of the best dancing ever get the movie Stormy Weather with Bill BoJangels Robinson. The dance scene with the Nickolas Brothers cannot be topped! I guarantee you will love it.

There´s old tap videos around from a guy and he does a backglide or backstep.. its pretty nice
