I'd rather recommend 40 Watt Sun, Amorphis, Atlantean Kodex, Ghost, if you want something similar to this - though they also sound completely different, as WHW is rather unique - at least the genre is similar. And there are millions of other bands out there which are way better than the bands you listed. Well, my personal favourite bands are changing from time to time, but the most constant bands in my top 5 list are Blind Guardian and Candlemass...

Maybe I'm getting old, but all this NuMetal and Metalcore stuff doesn't give me anything. I've tried to listen to it several times, always with the same thought: "Man, this sucks...." Ok, it seems I behaved like a typical hater with that new=crap-attitude, sorry for that And maybe you're right that Slipknot and Avenged Sevenfold are the first things you listen to when you're getting into metal. But sooner or later even you'll realize that traditinonal metal is way better ;)

@AgentHomer I was talking in a short term kind of way. Everyone knows that many old styles came from America like Jazz, Country, Thrash yadda yadda, and the progressive rock/metal scene. But can you tell me of a recent band that's actually that creative or done something that's new in the last, say 10 or 20 years? Most of the bands that done something really creative and different in the last 20 years are mostly Finnish and Swedish. I'm not taking any credits from America, just telling facts.

This is an interesting song; enjoyed the instrumental part--seemed almost orchestral as it lead into the tumultuous crescendo and I thought of waves hitting those rocks...the storm ever increasing. This is very tight...very professional; I can really appreciate it (no screaming...lol)
