  • really? does this work with water and gas pipes?

  • @pitbullnemesis

No, you cannot use them on gas but they are fine for water.

  • Well demonstrated. And you HAVE to be local?? (Lancashire) K

  • @kangtheconqueror

    Thanks, yes Darwen ;-)

  • @ultimatehandyman Thought so. I'm Chorley! K

  • @kangtheconqueror

    Only a stones throw away.

I have a couple of mates that live in Chorley :-)

  • and this will hold water and not burst when i turn on the pressure?.

  • @mario102395

Yes, If you can use a solder joint they are preferred but push fit joints work just fine!

  • Since they have O-rings and are for exposed installations they will not last even slightly as long as a soldered fitting that is pretty much forever.

  • I have old copper pipping in my apartment building.Do i have to remove all the oxidation from the pipe ends?

  • @MrKenx626555

I'd remove it to be on the safe side.

Some steel wool will clean it off easily.

  • use these on PEX?

  • @viper1966

You can get some that are compatible with pex, but you have to check when buying them!

  • are any pushfit fittings soldered? dont seem would hold any pressure?

  • No, they have a stainless steel grip ring on the inside and a "O" ring to seal them. You just push the pipes in to make the joint, there is no need to solder them.
