  • my kaiser ii is't as slow as that

  • LOL.....the turtle and tha Hair

  • wtf, i just wanna buy this phone

  • dont. Wait a while and either get htc diamond or the later iphones that actually have 3g and gps as well as sdk to dev some new apps.

  • No clue what you're talking about. Had this phone for 6 months now. The Tilt has NO ISSUES and is fast.

    ROM: Hyperdragon III

Visit XDA Developers for more info

  • HTC TyTN II HAS GPS and 3G. And also has HSDPA.?

  • it just sucks

  • I'm sorry, i don't see what that has to do w/ the graphics driver. You're using some autoscroll on the tilt vs continuously holding the down button on the d pad like you did w/ the other phone...i don't even begin to know what you're trying to show...

  • You misunderstand. He is not using an auto scroll, he is simply holding the down button for a few seconds on both phones. The Tytn II does not use it's video hardware to draw on the screen, it's all emulation being pumped through the processor. It should be scrolling smoothly, instead as it attempts to draw the screen updates it is unable to process as fast as the screen wants to scroll. The screen stops scrolling at 1:23 because the draw has finally caught up to the screen position.

  • yea lagg time

  • Its not an "auto scroll" !! There is no such feature ! Basically, It's taking so long to redraw the screen that after he takes his finger off the button it keeps on scrolling !

As this video demonstrates, On far less powerful phones, with inferior CPUs and less RAM, the scrolling is smooth and there is no visual tearing ! The reason for this is that graphics drivers affect *everything* you see on the screen, and HTC haven't provided any !!

  • wait, are you talking about the kaiser? coz it does actaully auto scroll, its not that shit :P lol

  • this might have no effect but

it looks like ur running the tilt off a wifi network because ur sim isnt in.

ur old htc looks like its running off the network with all 5 bars.

    im just saying....

  • Offline browsing...

  • I don't understand what you are trying to who with this video?

The TyTN II is doing 3 line scrolls and the phone is doing smooth scrolling.

What are you trying to prove?

I own a TyTN II myself and it's only that slow in the browser when it's in desktop page mode, I normally have it setup as 1 column display so I don't have the side to side scroll bar.

even if you had a new video display driver it wouldn't fix the problem your attempting to show.

  • This is a simple operation. this should not be any problem for this phone. Maybe you running your PC with 1 colum in safemode and are satisfied? same thing.

  • i have a touch cruise (just bought it) and it definately suffers from the same issue...but what are we gonna do about it? i feel like a jackass...i just bought an almost 900$ device and it is like running windows in safe mode...you're right that's a perfect analagy. what can we do though? you can't force them to create drivers when they don't want to...but that's an atrocity...selling 700-1000$ devices that perform like this...what are we paying for?

  • While tilt does have video driver issues, what you have specified is not a problem with Tilt's video drivers. What it really is, is a problem with PIE. You can fix it with a cab file from xda-developers. Just google IE slow scroll fix for windows mobile.

    Please do your homework first.

  • The cabfix is downgrading the pocketIE to an older version, witch works better with the default drivers(I know). Other PDAs that use the same PIE (WM6), does not suffer the same issue, So this is driver related, and I´ve done my homework.

  • My plan is up and I want to buy a Tilt. Is it possible for ATT/HTC to make a new downloadable upgrade or does the device have to be new for a videodriver? I don't really know much about phones, but I'm guessing it's the latter?

  • lol, I read a review where they said the tytnII was better than the iphone :)

  • well... it technically is. If only HTC decides to fix these problems, it will be WAY better than the iPhone.

  • whoa, i had a choice between the 8525 for $75 or the 8925 (tilt) for $175, I'm GLAD i stayed with the 8525, i love it- and I can play Project Gotham Racing 3D for WM with actual ATI 3D rendering, love it.

  • well, guess i don't have to buy a new phone after all...

  • class action ... we do not have to accept this!

  • Go to htcclassaction dot org for more information on this. Things are about to go down.

  • In my opinion, its not really a fair comparison when its between a Smartphone and a Pocket PC, but its OK I guess... Then again, Smartphone specs ususally suck, so maybe it is a good demonstration of the lower end device with a lower resolution smoking the expensive high end PDA...

  • Comparing a 5 year old smartphone with this PDA proofs that somthing is´nt alright with the kaiser. Hope HTC provide this phone some working videodrivers, But atm. my old voyager is a better choise if I want to browse the web.

Check the links for further reading.

  • When I first got my HTC Kaiser, I had the same problem. Like you, I put my 2 year old MDA compact (HTC magician) and the performance gap between the 2 were amazing! We need a new driver now,,

  • This is the greatest video showing the lack of proper video driver on the TyTN II.

It really gets annoying on every day use.

  • lol, there are no new drivers, that's the whole problem here ;)

  • Sort it out, HTC!

Great PDA but that's a serious problem with it - and one that HTC could solve with a little bit of effort.

    Thanks for posting.

  • Isn't this phone made by HTC?? Are they fixing it? Can you get drivers anywhere?
