I second that... skill animations look really slow and boring even the combinations arent visually exciting I find myself looking more at the waving of the robes than anything else. This game may just be overhyped and overrated.

Well if that's your opinion you're fully entitled to it. Though the game isn't the slightest slow, compared to WoW it's very fast paced and exciting. Nor is it overhyped or overrated. I've found myself actually being fond of grinding/farming in Aion due to how much I like the combat system. During my 4 years of WoW playing I've found WoW to be slow, boring and bland. Even SWG was more exciting.

Sure, Aion doesn't bring anything specifically new, but it's a nice game still.

Honestly I've been bored of WoW since end-game vanilla. It's just that the PC market is so extremely fatigued and I haven't afforded a PS3/Xbox/Wii so I've been stuck with WoW. Every expansion I hoped for something new and exciting but all it is is really new content.

Well I think one has to remember that many of the areas depicted here are lower areas in the game. From what I've seen in other vids, there are some skills that have rather impressive graphics. I dont know this for a fact, mind you, but you might want to consider checking out some abyss fighting vids and such.

The lower damage are DOTs ticking :). The high number is a DP skill (said in the video). A DP skill is a special ability.

nope, a green glow means the character has 2000~3000 DP, a green, blue, bright glow means you have over 3k, and a complete purple, white glow shows that you ahve 4k, the max so far i've seen. DP is much like vigor in perfect world, u need it to cast certain skills.

Hey Persepha, sorry to bother you again with a little question. How do the sorceress armors mostly look like, because of the vids I have seen, almost all sorcs had long robes and in my opinion robes look aweful.

Most end game armor for sorceress are robes, if not all. Imo they look great but yeah opinion differs.

At level 30 you can put one armor pieces stats on another. So you can use whatever armor you like the most kinda :]

If the above explanation didn't help, have you heard of iRO (International Ragnarok Online)? kRO (Korea Ragnarok Online) delay their content patches to attain the superior market position over all the other RO servers.

I'm not sure actually. But I have the feeling that we'll be pretty far behind Korea. Hopefully that won't be the case, but our release is somewhere around fall this year which will be either Q3 and Q4, that's pretty much a year after the Korean release.

If NCsoft play their cards right they'll let us get the patches a day or so after the Korea.

Yeah, that's one thing I really hated about iRO. One reason why I would be so stubborn to say WoW is better than Aion just basing it on that. I really dislike companies who carry out such actions. It's really annoying even if it is to be hold the "superior" market place.

I hope there is enough push to keep content patches equal across the world. If not, I'll be stubborn and wait for a popular western MMORPG to release.

Persepha, how is mana consumption on the sorceress? Wondering if it gets blown through quickly or if it takes a while to deplete. I'm thinking its similar to L2, and if you need to regen mana you sit down?

Stuff costs quite some mana, but not to the extent that you're out of mana after 2 or 3 mobs. You have a 1 min CD ability that regen your mana as well as potions and also a consumable requirement ability on a 30(?) seconds cooldown that regens a small amount of mana over time.

An on top of that you can sit down and rest. If you find a decent DPS rotation you can manage your mana very well. Like at the end of the clip you can see me kill quite some mobs without loosing too much mana :]

It's very polished for being in its early stage (recently released). The customization is great, the music is excellent, nice graphics and a promising end game and the game play is sweet too.

Not been to the abyss yet, so can't say much about it but the screenshots and movies I've watched have been breathtaking. Overall I'm very pleased with the game and I'm sure it will keep getting better and better! :]

You must've been very unlucky then. When I started playing there were nearly no bots (they only seem to have appeared later, where I have my sorceress at least). But I don't think the classes are that unbalanced, some are weaker than others but they'll probably change some numbers in the coming patches and it will most likely get better :]. It's still in it's early stage. Look at WoW, still unbalanced even though it's been out for several years.

If you look at the KN website, you'll see that they're going crazy on banning bots. Something like 6000+ were banned the last time I checked. They're cleaning up the servers, which is awesome. I wonder how well they'll do in their battle.

Even if they're different, it's kinda odd how both teams have bot problems and they aren't handling it quickly.

I think they are dealing with the bots in the wrong way. Surely it's nice that they try to do something about the issue (but remember, when they ban one account they'll ban all the other 4 that are 'connected' to it). It makes the number look bigger than what it really is.

They need to make gameguard worth using and they need to approach the biggest bot companies and sue them tbh :P do a Blizzard.

Ah, yeah, thats true, I forgot to take that into account. I do agree though, gameguard or something would work best. Just upgrade it. I can't believe people work so hard just to ruin the balance of a game. Like, they know they're killing it, but as long as they make money selling gold, its ok? Ridiculous. And botters who just don't want to level...Whats the point in playing in the first place.

Such a hard question ;D It might sound cheesy but I think all the classes I've played have been fun (chanter, cleric, assassin, a lil on templar, sorceress, spiritmaster). I'm going to play a sorceress at launch though, I've always liked magic based classes (preferably ranged too) and I'd rather not be dependent of summons.

I've been playing sorceress, assassin and chanter on and off when I get the time to and I gotta say that all of them are fun. I think most classes are designed well and it comes down to personal preferences of what you want to play as :).

From what I've understood there are still some class balancing issues at higher levels (I can't say yet since I'm not there) but they will probably be tweaked once the game releases in EU/NA.

So my tip is to play the role you know you'd enjoy!
