I dont see any girls.... There better be a girl. I would of kicked all of these guys butts when I was playen. :D I was the best I knew. Nissan Skyline is my baby!! :)
Only americans think its important to crawl as a racing driver through filth. Ridiculous... they know the track, but they will never be as good as one of the Nissan racing team. It's just the "american geek dream" hahaha
@DanGiordanengo Actually not. Physical training for race drivers is NOT a modern method. It's just "retarded" stuff they do to get more views and attention. Don't know what else they're doing for their physical constitution, but thats quite funny
@c4L4glin Ever see Fat Bastard driving a race car? Do you know how much endurance you need to be a racer? You have to be fit ENOUGH so why not see who actually has the capability of enduring a 24 hour race with a couple other racers on your Nissan team? You seriously think just because you can drive, that anyone can try to undertake something such as a 24 hour race? That's the finish line for the winner of GT Academy, to see if he can actually compete with other racers on serious teams.
@c4L4glin The past GT Academy winners have gone on to prove themselves. 2008 winner, Lucas Ordonez, placed 2nd in his class with his team at Le Mans this year. Obviously, the judges need to see if you have what it takes physically to win.
Anyone from the 2011 Nissan racing team will smash these idiots, who are they kidding? If you wanna get good at racing take your REAL car out on a REAL track. or else your just getting some watered down driving experience that won't translate on the track. they are not the level of Nissan's racing team and never will be, if your not willing to go all for broke and pay for your own car, and practice circuits. you don't dont deserve to be in a league with professional drivers.
@AgentSpiral lol, Lucas Ordonez who is currently on the 2011 Signatech Nissan racing team, was the GT Academy winner 3 years ago... last I heard, they placed 2nd in the LMP2 class at the 24hrs of Le Mans... Some people don't have the time or money to properly track and maintain a car. Even then, rarely are you pushing the car to its limits. Obviously racing sims are not the same thing, but many core principles do translate over, such as throttle modulation, brake thresholds, driving lines, etc.
@thefreshjive I agree with you completely. And honestly I can't speak 100% on the subject, because I haven't driven in one of the "GT5 racing sims", but I've played GT5 with a wheel and can say I don't see how anyone can learn from scratch. I mean some of these people had to have had prior racing experience or knowledge before doing this. Or else they'd just get out there and "spin circles". The G's and brakes on a sim can't be as precise as the real deal.
@thefreshjive I agree with you completely. @AgentSpiral In GT5 it's very hard to get good at, especailly when you're actually race a fast car, what i remembered it is as hard as a real sport that i have played. I can cleary say that the car handling is almost the same as the real thing, yes it's not 100% but very close, i'm a motorsport fan and i know how the car handle better than a scumbag like you, who need to keep their mouth shut because you know nothing how car handle.
@AgentSpiral To be fair, the contest winner Bryan Heitkotter has real cars, and has gone out on real tracks and is a 3x SCCA Champion. Not to mention that this past weekend at Mid-Ohio, the entire Nissan Racing Team was raving about Bryan and his skills, even after a race ending accident took place. He is quite a legitimate race car driver, just never had a chance to get a big break until this GT Academy came along.
@DigitalRPMRacing You're comment a truly false. Bryan Heikotter never said that he have race a real car before. But he only have tried autocross just for fun. If you're right then Bryan have lied in his interview about his previous life. So why should he lie????
why would not just practice with a REAL car on a REAL track. i know professional racing is expensive...i know. but if they can afford to host this show, they can teach these people real skills. even if they do make it through the course, they will get their lunch eaten by a pro driver from Nissan, who didn't learn from a game. Get anyone from Nissan 2011 team to race with their eyes closed and they will still beat these clowns.
@AgentSpiral You're just a dumbass little kid playing Call of Duty. Just shut up at something you don't know and suck at. You obviously ain't know shit about motorsport or car handling. Your comment don't make any sense. No way you can close you're eye while racing that is just fail!
@laos85 I must have made you mad or something, coming from someone who is talking about "closing their eyes", I don't make any sense? LOL get the hell out of here.
@AgentSpiral I believe you suck at driving, you're propably cannot beat those guys from GT Academy in real or virtual not even close. Including the 2009 GT Academy winner Lucas Ordonnez who won second place in the real racing series called Le Mans 24hrs. Race driving required high concentration and thus if you close your eyes you will fail. I'm not mad, it just bothers me whem some peoples who have no experience in something and talk like they know shit.
even Clarkson knows there's a big difference between racing in a video game and real life because of "human factor". you dont feel the g force or think about your brakes not working in a game.
The top 32 players that made it to round 4, all cheated! 2nd round was cancelled because they cheated but where never disqualified. The gt academy event was rigged so that Bryan Heitkotter would win. Its not a "reality" show, its false advertisement!
@mcburgerballs How and why was it rigged? There were amazing drivers/racers in the competition, they just happened to be not as good as the guy who won.
@DigitalRPMRacing Round 2 was resetted 3 times because of cheating and all 3 times the same top players all cheated so round 2 was cancelled but the cheaters never got suspended. The top 8 players from all 4 regions that won round 3 all cheated in round 2 all 3 times. All of the 32 players that made it to round 4 should have been not allowed to compete in round 3.
@mcburgerballs I was aware of the rampant cheating going on, but it most certainly wasn't limited to just those who went to Orlando. As someone else already stated, that isn't rigging the contest, it is simply mishandling it and designing a game that allowed such faults to occur.
Bryan won the competition fair and square, I don't see how it could (or would) be rigged prior to ensure his victory. He was as surprised as the rest of us.
@DigitalRPMRacing So what you are saying is that the sponsor of the gt academy event was looking for someone that found glitches in the tracks, cut across corners, crash the race car into a walls instead of someone that took it serious like real life. "He was as surprised as the rest of us." you obviously have something to do with the show. who are you?
@mcburgerballs No, they weren't looking for that. You're misinterpreting what I state simply to back up your own delusions. Everyone is aware of the cheating, which is why an entire round was eliminated. That's not the issue I have, the issue I have is your statement saying that Bryan Heitkotter was in a contest where they "rigged" it for him to win.
@mcburgerballs Me? I have nothing to do with the show, nor Gran Turismo. In fact, I've never played that game. I've just known Bryan for the last few years. I know what he went through during the early rounds of the contest, as well as what he went through in Florida. I've also chatted with him since his victory was made public.
This wasn't rigged, not in the slightest. It's just aggravating to see comments from users thinking they have any idea what went on, when they're just 100% wrong.
@mcburgerballs I did not cheat in round 2. As a matter of fact I said, "I will not compete in this tournament if I have to cheat" I went to England. It just goes to show how little you know and how few facts you have correct.
@mcburgerballs My name is Chris Roberts AKA Dr_3wide_Skillz I went to Silverstone. It took a lot of hardwork and sacrifices to be amoung the top 16/54,000. Yes round two consisted of cheating; however, polyphony and sony did a great job of making sure no cheating earned people a spot in the top 16. Early in Round2 wall bounces and track cuts were being used, so they changed the tracks to stop it, but the new set of tracks allowed for track cuts and wall bounces leading to termination of R2
@mcburgerballs I watched Bryan Heitkotter all throughout the competition. I woke up and every morning he and I would discuss what events may lie ahead of us. Heitkotter deserved to win this from every aspect. He is very respectable, and he is very fast in a car. Watch the show dude, you will see why he won this and you will see there was no rigging :)
