they are hardly in a trance. they are very aware and sspecific with the movements, as they rsemble inner spiritual experiences while meditating on the yidam the dance is made for, and it is a traditional dance as well.
I called it a Trance Dance because they all make these lazy yet repetitive movements as if they were in a trance. However, they're totally aware of themselves - not high or meditative - during the routine.

Yes, that video is simply of a rehearsal for the actual dances which incorporate elaborate masks and costumes but no, they are not in a trance.
