Just because he played something in a different movie doesn't mean that he can't play other roles, nor should he be labeled as "the guy who played" if he's in other movies. Heath Ledger was in that same movie, and he turned and performed the hell out of The Joker.

That being said, I agree with you on the fact that the movie was subpar, but it display war horrors to a decent degree.

if youve read the book that the movie jarhead is based on you will realize its prolly the exact opposite of propaganda. the author struggles with his own inner demons caused by joining the marines because thats what his family did even though he wanted to go to college. and upon returning home he realizes that his life will forever be changed because the military desensitized them so much
