  • The only thing that is really disappointing is that these videos are not available to the public for free. I am surprised that someone like James Randi would not allow great educational debates/exchanges like this to be freely available. I understand that they have to somehow finance JREF & events like this but I would have thought that they would figure out a way to make these things available to people like me...who are unfortunately in a very bad financial situation but still enjoy learning.

  • Randi has the manliest beard of all time.

  • lol i laughed so hard at tellers face at 3:35

  • Penn & Teller are a bunch of conservative, deathist fucktards, as are most self-proclaimed 'skeptics'. Only an imbecile would reject cryonics (and, by extension, transhumanism) out of hand.

  • @Parapon3ra What is a deathist?

  • @MTGandP Deathism is the family of philosophies, psychologies, attitudes, positions, opinions, and viewpoints that support the notion that death (due to aging) is both inevitable and good, and that all attempts to 'unnaturally' extend the human lifespan are futile and/or immoral. It is strongly or tentatively held not only by nearly all Christians, Muslims, Jews, Hindus & New Agers, but also most atheists, agnostics, skeptics, humanists, indeed nearly everybody. It's mankind's biggest psychosis.

  • @Parapon3ra Ever thought of medicating?

  • @reznor12 Ever thought of thinking critically?

  • @Parapon3ra well then why did you watch this? HATERS GONNA HATE!

  • @Turtleluver26 I watch this so I can comment on it, and maybe spread some much-needed awareness about the world's biggest psychosis, deathism. This so-called 'Amaz!ng' meeting is basically just a gathering of pompous, closed minded conservatives who apparently still think 19th century humanism is the cutting edge of reason. News flash! It's the 21st century, and science & technology are starting to redefine what it means to be human. We no longer have to blindly accept things like aging & death.

  • @Parapon3ra i don't want to live in a world where death is no longer a powerful force. the population is bad enough, we don't need people living to be 200. 80 years is a long time, and instead of thinking about how to cheat death and live longer, we should be concerned about making the most of the years we have.

  • @Turtleluver26 Right, OBVIOUSLY the best way to 'fix' overpopulation is by blindly accepting death instead of, say, colonizing the oceans & space, and breeding a bit less (which would be a good idea anyway; RECKLESS OVERBREEDING, not longevity, is the primary cause of overpopulation).

"80 years is a long time" Compared to the age of the universe, it's a blink of an eye. Also note that even this miserable blink is still about 3 x longer than the 'natural' human lifespan.

  • @Parapon3ra i WANT a nice, long life. and compared to the creatures on this earth, 80 years is a long time. a fly lives for less than 24 hours. not once in it's mind does it worry about trying to cheat that, it simply lives it's life and doesn't complain. we have the most complex brain on this planet. we have one of the longest life spans. but that isn't enough. we shorten the life span of other animals by taking their food and their land. GOD FORBID one day, we have to die. isn't it a TRAGEDY.

  • @Turtleluver26 As I mentioned before, 80 years is roughly 3 times the original human lifespan. WE'RE ALREADY 'CHEATING DEATH' THROUGH MODERN MEDICINE AND OTHER FRUITS OF CIVILIZATION, GET IT? It would kinda suck to die at 30, wouldn't it? Dying at 80, 120, or even 500 isn't fundamentally different. It still sucks.

"a fly lives for less than 24 hours. not once in it's mind does it worry about trying to cheat that"

That's because it's a mindless animal. We are, and deserve, better than that.

  • @Parapon3ra yes we are already cheating death, but there should be a limit to everything. including how long we live. I actually want to become a medical scientist, to find cures for allergies and diabetes. This way i can improve the quality of life. not to live longer. death isn't bad. it isn't something to fear. life DEPENDS on death. its the natural order of our earth. and the minute we stay past our welcome, the earth and those around us suffer for it.

  • @Parapon3ra Their basis for rejecting cryonics wasn't that death is good, it was that according to the people they talked to it wouldn't actually properly preserve the tissue so it was a waste of money. They may well be wrong on that (I certainly hope so), but that hardly makes them deathist, and even so, thinking of death the way most of humanity does is hardly reason to despise someone or call them fucktards. Maybe if they were stopping you from signing up for cryonics I'd understand the rage.

  • @antialiasis Have you actually seen their cryonics vid ( watch?v=ZOA0-w5Az5Y )? It's pretty damn obvious they see the whole thing as a joke and never did any serious research. Their shallow, hostile treatment of the only means to 'cheat' death isn't just stupid, it's also profoundly immoral. This kind of deathist propaganda literally kills (by making people reject a potentially life saving procedure), and makes things more difficult for those of us who do have the common sense to sign up.

  • @antialiasis Btw, cryonics (or advanced preservation of the dead in general) is the right choice REGARDLESS OF THE FINAL OUTCOME. Even in the very unlikely case that the frozen can never be repaired, not even with advanced future nano, AI & other technologies (some of which will be 'indistinguishable from magic'), it is still our rational and moral duty to preserve the dead to the best of our abilities. Cremation and burial are barbaric, and encourage other primitive mindsets and beviors.

  • @antialiasis A society that freezes instead of buries or burns its dead is a society that values reason, science, freedom & human life, and rejects superstition and barbarism. Embracing cryonics would benefit everyone, not just those who get frozen and (potentially) revived. Willfully destroying people who could have been preserved and revived at a later date is an act of abject barbarism, and can only breed more barbarism like wars, poverty, and high crime rates. Deathism makes life cheap.

  • "You wanna hold this- oh, he's already out..." LMAO Teller is such an imp.

  • loved randi's 'aw shucks' @00:56

  • Holy shit! its Leonard from Ugly Americans.

  • A wild smurf has appeared

  • @Aldawok12

    I cried laughing.

  • Penn looks f%$#ing huge!

  • hehehe, poor Randi, he got busted

  • Having met Randi he is indeed quite tiny. 5' 3" is a good estimate. Randi is also a very nice chap.

  • Love Randi, Love Penn, and Love Teller!

    Excellent trick!

  • Teller is almost 6, himself, so Randi is probably like... 5'7"

  • I am 6' 3" and have stood next to Teller myself and he's about 5' 9" at best guess so I would put Randi at about 5' 3". But that's strictly estimate.

  • Maybe hes small, but is bigger than anyone whos has writen here.

  • Small Man, Big Spirit

    ((((GONG)))))

  • Rhandi is so small.

  • Great things come in small packages, Randi being the prime example.

  • Verily

  • What Randi lacks in size, he makes up with his manliness. =p

  • @Shezmu Proving that gays can be manly!

  • @Shezmu only a real man can maintain that level of beardiness

  • @Shezmu What Randi lacks in size, he makes up with beard :)

  • @Shezmu James Randi is gay. hahah

  • @SuperMachineElf yup. so's Magic Johnson, Neil Patrick Harris, and Rock Hudson. None of whom are quite the specimens of manliness presented by this wise & wizened wizard.

  • @HKTeeVee Touchê, motherfucker, touchê.

  • You have to remember that Penn is 6'6".

  • But Randi is a small person even compared to average size people.

  • i love this 3 men

  • Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha! Perfectly done. ★★★★★

    Katalyzt

  • Watch Atheist comedian on prayer in school. Sorry for advertising but it needs 10k views.

    This was a great Q and A.

  • Wow,Mr.Randi is so small!

  • To be fair, Penn is a very large man. I'd say he's about six and a half feet tall, maybe a little more.

  • A smurf!

  • Oh my hells, I haven't laughed like this in years. Magnificent bastards, the three of them.

  • It looks like teller is feeding the rope through the handcuff and around his hand.

  • These three men are gods far greater than any deity that man has created. They should be commended for their great work. Anyone who must have "real" magic to make their lives "special" does not know the wonder of this incredible world we live in. Reality is special and it is full of wonder. Listen to a symphony. Read poetry. Love. Watch your children beat you at chess for the first time. It's all real and it's all great.

  • theres a lot of famous people at those meetings...it would be cool to be there

  • haha, that was great...

  • My three favorite skeptics. Ok, three of five, but still.

  • Penn, the leather pants........why?

  • Cause it's hot in some really weird way.

  • Nice pants, Penn.

  • the trick here is easy.. I've never done it before and this is the first time I've seen it. teller simply pulls the middle of rope inside of the handcuffs and pushes it over to the other side. if that doesn't make sense, take a really loose watch and pull a middle piece of string from the inside the watch and over your fist to get it in the other side of your arm.

  • Penn is 6 foot 7..

    yay wikipedia!!

  • Holy fuck! There's a monster behind you Randi!!!

    How tall is Penn?

  • 6 foot 7

  • 6'6"

  • Mr. Randi isn't a tall man himself though.

  • Man, I wanted to learn how to do the trick...

  • Holy shit Penn is HUGE compared to Randi.

  • LOL

  • Penn's a bastard haha! love the two of them but Randi ... what an incredible person. he seems so tiny and frail but his mind could snap steel bars (just prove it and get away with the 1 million haha !). can you be my grandpa ? ;)

    he's the real magic :)

  • ROFLFLFLFLFL!

    Love the trio!

  • Randi looks like a gnome next to them!

  • I think I've been had!

Oh, that was a marvelous line :-)

  • Just an Amazing!!! 3 Peoples here...

As a magician, that`s I call real magic!

Congratulations, and many thanks for all of them...

    alex...

  • I like Randi too

  • Hooray for Randi, Penn, and Teller!

  • i forgot i was at home and started clapping when he gave randi all the credit

  • Aw man.... that's great! I'm laughing so hard I'm tearing up!

  • That is beautiful, HAHA.

    I think I've been had.

  • Hahaha! Awesome stuff.

  • aw mate that is GOLD! i hope i can get to a TAM one day.
