@denleedan It's UK law that televisions are liecenced. It's to finance the BBC. Everyone has to pay it if they want a tele, other channels are financed by advertisements. The powers that be have devices that can tell if someone is watching illegally (without a liecence) and if caught you can be fined lots of £££s. This applies to watching any channel, it's not exclusive to the BBC.
