@SOADHEAD666 You're young.. You'll appreciate good music once you mature.. give it about 5 years or so. Until then, shut the fuck up. You're just making a fool of yourself.
@primus567 While I agree with you whole-heartedly, And I know you're definitely not speaking of all young people, I've loved this band since I was 13. Back then, I was mature enough to see that this band had a sense of technicality, and was unique. =D
@NationUnderTheSwine I actually got the vision on a sailing trip while blasting the music in my headphones and images of ancient, pre-human Darwinian struggles bombarded my mind. Did it all while sober, too. lol
right at the brief pause maybe have some string instruments then intertwine the metal with string symphony, to me that would be awesome ontop of this great song.
Man I love these guys so much. The raw intensity of the music coupled with the beautiful melancholy that they manage to create is the perfect contradiction.
Don't get me wrong, pelican is one of my favorite Post Metal/Post Rock (or whatever the hell you guys wanna call it), but I think their Australasia album was a lot better. But that's just my opinion...
I just bought this album today. Never heard the band and stuff and just listening to some of the songs before I open it up. Seems like some good stuff though.
I have always wondered what this band sounds like. They're pretty damn awesome. I think it is strange how I've never gotten the chance to hear this band.
Pelican's music is perhaps among the most intelligent in metal. The collage of "dark and light" sound and the grandiosity of the riffs, in combination with the genteel brutality of the drums, conjures up images of prehistoric animals doing battle in the ocean, struggling to survive and bringing about the beauty of the modern species on our planet. This is fucking scientific metal!
@Lestatus86 Tool resonates the drone of industry, the hurling of machines and the clanging of monolithic instruments of steel and of metal. The vocals, slightly muffled but charged with emotion, defiantly pierce through the din of industrial proto-metal, and, in each song, coalesce with the guitar, drums and bass in a final climax of rage and melancholy.
@ExposingTheGOP That is probably the best description of a band's music I've ever heard, someone should write for a magazine or something, if you don't already haha
I was told to crank this song and close my eyes. try it

It's so much better without lyrics. This is shit you can blast anywhere and not have people stare at you because of the usual screaming. xD
