The problem with the American administration is that they think American life is more precious than any other life in the planet. If an American dies, its a national tragedy, if an Afghan or Iraqi dies, its an accepable loss of unfortunate collateral damage!

The real discouraging thing here is not Romney, although he is a slimeball (but no more than any other opportunistic politician), it is the lack of analysis and context in Fox's "journalism" (which becomes glaringly obvious when you watch TPM do it properly!). But media coverage of campaigns is based on talking points (sorry for the irony!) and sound bites, and candidate "qualities" (is Obama "black enough"--total nonsense) and has no time for nuanced treatment of "issues."
