wrong, the most expensive piano ever sold was for £2.4 million so thats about $3.5 million dollars, it is also a replica of an original piano that was burnt, it is the only one in the world and is made by stienway as part of their legendary collection and is currently owned by a university somewhere
hmm, I wonder, if crystals can enrich the piano sound as much as woods can, it's more of an extravegance, typical asian materialistic features........
If Top Gear presented a car without test driving it and revving the engine, we would feel ripped off! You presented a piano without testing it and letting hear us its sound, we feel ripped off. 1/10 and a thumbs down. (May as well just take this video down)
Just because it's expensive doesn't mean it's good. ;) I heard of a Yamaha grand piano being sold for $500,000. A brand new Blüthner can be about $90,000, usually less if you want a smaller one like a 6 foot. Personally, I'd take a Blüthner or Bösendorfer, or even a Bechstein over a Yamaha any day.
I imagine it sounds terrible, without the wooden case so much natural resonance will be removed and replaced with whatever that "crystal" case can do, and be a hard head material I doubt highly if its pleasant.
There will never be an accounting for lack of taste or tastelessness - nor an accounting of the vulgarian with too much money who will pay for tasteless things.
3.2 million OK??? R U for reals? I am glad someone has that kind of money for tunes. So who cares JK? NOT. It depends on who is behind the keys anyway. Anything in tune would work if talent was playing.
i dont need to understand the gibberish they are speaking to understand that it looks nice but i want to hear the sound of the piano before i even consider it
Hello China, you should just row your boat across the water to Japan and buy a Yamaha, take the extra money you saved and learn to play it, then learn how to make videos. Now what will you do with the other 3.2 million? What a waste of my time. If you ever want to buy another piano, i'll make you a great deal on a Korean made Boston for only 1.5 million.
and, that thing is fucking ugly. you can see boults and stuff, it's not relaxing to see that piano, it gives me a lot of stress! And the material doesn't transfer the soundwaves as good as wood, I guess it doesn't have a warm sound, but a cold clear sound only.
This is what I mean about China, you think "Oh the glory of Olympic in China!!" you'd think they'd save the piano in a show room for pride. No, they sold it.
wow.. pack of non musical individuals covered this story.. they dont even show it being played or just the sound of it.. waste of time covering this story
Must give a pretty nice sound when it hits the ground after a fall from an eight-storey apartment..

The most expensive piano is actually Steinway's oldest grand piano in showroom condition, costing 10 million bucks.

This isnt true
If you unterstand chinese the guy says 100,000,000 (100million) RMB
100,000,000 RMB divided by 6.6=15,100,000 USD
then by the valued price
is around 10million USD

@scubis How stupid is that video. 1:42 of showing a piano and we can't hear it...
It's like taking a cooking lesson and you can't eat anything.
It's like taking a driving lesson and never start the engine.
It's like going in a plane and not take off.
It's like skiing without snow.
It's like surfing on a lake.
It's inappropriate and useless. The essence of the thing, the most important experience is missing.
MUSIC IS NOT ABOUT HOW MUCH IT COSTS. Music has the value you give to it.
