learning a language in school doesn't mean that you'll be able to understand the language the way it's really spoken (especially by young people) .. you have to watch movies, listen to songs, practice your listening comprehension by means of real conversations.. if your teacher is good he will contribute to this, if not well then you have to make an effort or else you're screwed

i'm studying french at university actually and i didn't understand all of it. young people at this age have their own slang, its like that in every language, and additionally the sound quality sucks. so it's clear that a "normal" student who takes french at school doesn't have a chance to understand a lot of what theyre saying here
