I would go blind or give my right arm just to see David playing in the 70ies; I saw him in the early and late 80ies, the 90ies and in the 2000nds - but to see "the Duke" on stage is just a dream that will never come true....
the guitar riff played here and on the diamond dogs tour is completely absent in the original studio version. Nice twist on the original , but u cant beat Ronson's guitar on the intensely edgey raw studio version!
I wish this came in the Station to Station deluxe edition. Instead of giving us the same album 3 times in the box (5.1 stereo mix, original RCA cd, and the remaster) and giving us a DVD with the same album in different volumes, they should have just put a DVD of this. Cleaned up the picture and audio like they did the New York bootleg in the box, and then released it as that. The rehearsal video, New York bootleg, and the original album. Then it would be worth $150 bucks.
RedSails79 consider yourself lucky, two years? You are just discovering the many treasures out there and as you know Bowie is the mother-lode lol think of all the undiscovered stuff out there. Okay check out TEARS FOR FEARS Raul & THE KINGS OF SPAIN, I used to hate them but WOW they are amazing, and THE FIXX WOODLANDS sessions..Check out Gentle Giant, they have "some" GREAT" stuff weird but amazing. Contact me & I will send you a long list..BOWIE always at the top
another Dave...never..met him twice, chatted with him...seen him over 25 times in full concert since the Dogs era..Thank-You Dave...forever...would not trade a memory for 2 million dollars...ever.
The greatest artist in music history, nobody will ever be able to do this. It came at a time where ART was real, appreciated & devoured, now it's corporate processed cheese & as disposable as a bic lighter. This was all very real & it came with visual stimulation, imagination & feeling. Now it all comes with fake glitz, fake scandal, sex tapes and crap processed cheese which they now call music. THIS IS AN AMAZING VERSION of this great song..Raw intense energy by the best musicians on the planet
@MusicCollaborator : Yeah, man, you put your finger on it. Today's music is nothing as compared to Bowie's genius. Unfortunately I only became aware of Bowie a couple of years ago (I hope I will be forgiven this "sin" given that my teenage years were back in the nineties, just as crappy as far as musical taste is concerned as the first decade of the new century; had to work my way up to musical heights like Bowie, the Doors, Pink Floyd...
Gemma at high school in the library, i read the New York Times ,just after winter...saw the huge one page ad for the massive Station to Station Tour...the rest is rock history...what a life we had back then...I feel sooo sorry for the kids nowadays...I tell my two daughters and they are truly mesmerized by our accounts...tears...all best love...email me...my book is coming along superlatively!

shame there was no audience for these great rehearsals. But now with youtube there can be

There's something really nice about watching and listening to rehearsals instead of concert performances.
