  • My favourite version is by Hank Williams jr - I have not yet heard Rod McKuen's version. Irrespective of that it is a moving song.

  • I just came across this. Great job. very pleasant listening. Thanks for Posting.

  • Well, I though Rod McKuen wrote this song. It was published in 1965 and

titled 2-10, 3-16, 10-44. But I see on the net it is also attributed to

    Jimmie Rogers.

And to make things more confusing, there are at least three singers

named Jimmie Rogers with various spellings.

Oh, well. It's a great song. thanks for posting.

  • Hi !Excellent, better than Jimmie Rodgers's version ! Have you recorded some songs ans published some records ?

  • @fanchbrezoneg Thank You. I have only YouTube recordings, 78 videos (songs)

  • @fanchbrezoneg disagree for sure....rodgers version is still the best...sorry this singer sounds like es struggling to sing.....however each is entitled to his own....

  • @jekiwe . Which Rodgers's version : solo on LP or duet (live with Rod McKuen) ?

  • @fanchbrezoneg solo which I have on a 45...what LP would it be on..perhaps a greatest hits ????

  • @jekiwe . Yes it's a best of, the title : Jimmy Rodgers - The Ultimate Collection - published by the label Teen Ager - Record 618 (made in Denmark). To-day you have 2 cd on sale (30 songs) on Amazon.com, the price : $ 19,76. The place of this song # 25. You have the recto verso of the cd on Amazon.com.

  • There's a live version of this (on CD) by Jimmie Rodgers, featuring vocals by Rod McKuen, who penned the song.

  • The Mc Kuen version by rhe Kingston Trio of John Stewart is very nice too.

  • Wonderful job on one of my favorite Rodgers songs.

  • Thank You

  • Nice job on a beautiful song.....great pictures.

  • Thank You!

  • Great job!

Lyrics are a tad different from Jimmy Rodgers or Rod McKuen's (the writers) version. Kind of like your words best, but... and please don't take this as a criticism... I like Rodgers' voice a little better. However, you give a VERY listenable presentation, which if I didn't have Jimmy Rodgers to compare to, you would win. :)

    Nice, effective guitar work!

Thank you so much for sharing! I will return to hear this often.
