angling the HC unit will effect its performance as it will think it is the heli that is on an angle and try to compensate it. I mount the bracket to the body of the heli so that the sensor looks down between the skids. Mount it on the left hand side to keep it clear of any blade strikes.
Yes - that was my thinking - elevator axis giro loses response proportional to tilt angle - while aileron axis gyro (in which I tilted HC) would be unaffected (as gyros measure rate of angle change - so it would be oblivious)
In the vid the tail strut looks like it's in the 'vision beam' - maybe it does not matter
I angled my HC a tad to avoid the strut
