Wow, all these NEW features that Serato has have been a part of Virtual DJ for years.

Serato is a great system but Virtual DJ does ssssso much more. And before anybody says anything, I use both and have NEVER had an issue with Virtual DJ. I know people who have had problems with both. EVERY single person that I have met has had problems with Virtual DJ are because of something the user did wrong wether it be hardware or settings.

I scratch a little. The BPM is fine but I don't use it... it's cheating :-)

Serato is an awsome system but it's plain. I like using loops and sutters and other effects and virtual dj has had more options.

pagon - Scratch LIVE really is the cream of the crop when it comes to true vinyl emulation. VDJ has some sound quality issues and the latency isnt spectacular. Nice thing about scratch LIVE is that its an all in one system - no crazy sound card to configure - no registry tweaking, etc.

I have 2ms latency on VDJ using Presonus Firebox and no sound quality issues. All advanced master tempo settings are on. Highly recommend this sound card.

You're right Tony - VDJ takes some tweaking to make it work correctly. I have gone in and looked at the control panel setting. (I own both Scratch LIVE and VDJ). I can see where some useres would have trouble setting up Virtual DJ. Scratch LIVE includes all the hardware and software in one package and is simple to install and configure. I will say that VDJ had some amazing features long before any others. Both are great choices...

traktor is not really the standard, although it has got a lot more popular recently. i know plenty of people who hate the layout of it. no clubs were i live use it. they all use serato. plus someone i know sold traktor cause it crashed a couple of times on him. which would suck big time at a gig lol :)

Traktor is the standard (what forced serato partnership with ableton? Traktor FX... ) Stanton makes Scs.1d giving the best integration with software like Ableton or Visualism (VJ)

Uh, no. Serato is actually copying Virtual DJ. Virtual DJ has had all these options (and more) for YEARS.

Serato was originally built to emmulate vinyl control and that's it. BUT since people have been complaining that they have to buy other software to get more options they finally started adding more.
