  • which laptop do you prefer for gaming, photoshop, music and fast?

  • So, which are some of the laptops do you suggest. (not for gaming thought) -sorry forgot to mention that. I want a laptop whcih will last many years and nothing more then photoshop is what i would be largely using. Plus basic Univeristy daily use...

Please include the brand and model number. (preferably with different brands)

    Thanks

  • @BongoMCTz So u dont need a proper graphics card then, go for fastest processor (Core i7 2nd gen). Since Windows 7 is pretty gay, u might as well buy a Macbook Pro. Am not kidding. If u can afford 8GB RAM and SSD hard-drive, that'd be quite future proof. Word of advice, check the minimum spec for Adobe Premiere or After Effects because a graphics card like "Intel HD3000" might not cut the mustard.

  • I want to buy a laptop to watch movies and surf the internet, I'm considering toshiba or sonny.I have 500 euros, please give me some advice....

  • @pandel69 I see the problem. You want a budget laptop. The problem you have to think about is in 2 years, and your Sony laptop is working properly but it's so slow that it feels like junk. Then what? Re-install Windows? Spend another €599? My video is for longterm laptop, not buying a new one every 2 years. Have a look at "MEDION ERAZER X6813 (MD97855)" It's €1099. Find it in-store, check if it's shit or not, read reviews!

  • Thank you for making this, I'm serious. I'm so clueless on "specs", on which gaming laptop to buy, all I knew is that I wanted a lot of GB space for hard drive and quad core > dual core. Thank you for making everything SIMPLE so I know how to compare laptops.

also parts of this were funny, like the tea kettle you compared CPU to, and I also liked the sound effects and music. :)

  • @RukiKatiakicz thanks! if u message the link of your next laptop, i can give u some further advice. ;)

  • @PhantomAct I'm considering Sager NP8170, Asus G53/73, Qosmio x505/770, and maybe an Alienware but it has NVidia GeForce GTX 285m while others have at least 460m or more, Asus having Radeon HD5870 and I dunno how that compares but I assume bigger number = better for the video card. Alienware also has smaller space for hard drive...

Do you know difference between Nvidia GTX, GT, GS?

Also they all use DDR3, but your video only mentions GDDR..?

  • @RukiKatiakicz Don't just go by numbers. HD6630m is a piece of shit. But HD5870 is on a par with GTX460m. The last slide of my video refers you to a website for mobile GPU ranking. The "X" after GT is important, it means the GPU is not a piece of shit. You need to google "GDDR" and "DDR" Ain't helping you with that. And in this case, GDDR5 is faster than GDDR3. The best speed laptop RAM can do is DDR3 (i think). Asus G53jw should be cheaper now since G53sx is just out.

  • @PhantomAct sorry by numbers I meant 460m vs 520m, wasn't sure about the Radeon. also for cpu, all the laptops I'm considering have intel core 2630qm, which is 2 ghz but has turbo boost so it can go up to 2.9, which is "close to 3" but is this ideal/good at all? thanks

  • @PhantomAct also I'm surprised alienware is so high up there in class 1 in gpu video o_o I've heard so much about how they're not that good...

  • ... and now I'm researching benchmarks, which is also gonna help in the long run. I think I really do want the Toshiba Qosmio x770-ST4n04, but I'm still considering options.

  • @RukiKatiakicz I guess u buy Alienware because u want the Dell support. Asus has global warranty but I heard it's horrible. That's one thing u need to ask BEFORE purchase: "Who do I go to when a problem occurs? Do I pay for sending it to you? If I don't lke the laptop during 1st week (e.g. fan is too loud), can I return it with no fuss refund?" It's also a good idea to go in-store and check the quality of the laptop screen (maybe on a previous model).

  • @RukiKatiakicz Remember it's a GPU ranking. I make no claims on other aspects of the laptop. Obviously if you pair a good GPU with a good CPU, then you're off on a good start. CPU is something you can upgrade. I did it twice already and from 2nd-hand eBay stuff. Most GPU are soldered to the mobo, so no upgrade there.

  • thanksssssssssssssss

  • HOLY SHIT ITS STEPHEN HAWKING!

  • DONT BUY EMACHINES.EMACHINES SUCKS!!!!!

  • Awesome dude :D ! ! ! Helpful w. lolz!

  • what does it mean if it say i5 or i7 instead

  • @GamerDude197 Core i3 and i5 are still dual cores. Some i5 have terrible integrated graphics. Core i7 is a quad-core. Speedwise, compare turbo-boost figures. I think AMD's quad-core is the Phenom 2 series.

  • This is actually really helpful. I am still undecided but am saving this to my favorites so I can refer to it again.

  • Hmm, maybe you're right. Maybe I should make a video like you suggested. I don't know if it would go viral like you said...lol

  • @AvroBellow it will have to be über cool & geeky. Like getting the message out there. I can help with video (which am still learning how to do) :D
