Moreover, if it were caused by something specific that humans had introduced into the environment, we wouldn't see if happening all over the world. So she's wrong about the specifics, and she's obviously a fan of the Naturalistic Fallacy, which is a problem in and of itself.

@daggerros I'm still not sure what you want evidence of. Go read up on the subject. The CCD working group found, back in 2007, that CCD could mainly be correlated on biotic factors; ie. that CCD colonies had no other factors in common. In 2010 there was a paper suggesting that CCD is caused by the combination of a viral infection and a fungal growth. Meanwhile, there has been zero evidence to support the things she implies, like the idea that CCD is caused by changes in our farming methods.

While the term "Colony Collapse Disorder" is a fairly new one, similar incidents have been reported dozens of times throughout recorded history. I wouldn't worry about it too much, though it's certainly worth studying.

@happy543210 In essence that's true. But the solution is to employ a modernised system of bio diverse intensified organic farming. What you need to understand is that the chemical companies are deciding what you eat. Through lobbying they have managed to convince legislators that the threat that pests allegedly pose requires a massive chemical solution and GM crops. The reality is that the alleged threat is good business for the chemical companies, not humans and not bees.

Once pesticides no longer contain plant disease, we will embrace genetically modified food and artificial pollination.
