Je suis en admiration face à cette capacité qu'a l'esprit de maitrise sur le corps. La technique est vraiment maitrisée, trés joli à voir déplacements, enchainements, précisions.
@ifrit1780 That is a good observation. Not to many of my kyokushin friends are really buff, but the thing about kyokushin it was a system of karate that is dominated by huge people.

By comparison to the other presentations at this show kyokushin is the least impresive yet it is probably one of the stronger systems of training there
I totaly agree, shotokan, well the schools i have been too anyway are very bad, kyokushin is the real deal when it comes to karate but alot of people who cant handle the tough training switch
Shotokan is a joke in comparison. I trained with Hanshi Arneil at the Kyokushinkai club in Crawley (UK) for 4 years before going to university. At university i went to a Shotokan club for a few weeks and it was so bad that i was tempted to correct the instructors on a number of occasions. They understand almost nothing abou technique.
Shotokan is a business enterprise that has sold out karate. Kyokushinkai is the traditional Japanese art, taught by it's true masters.
Oh shotokan is old, i admit that, but it's taught by instructors who aren't good enough most of the time. My brother and i have both experienced shotokan first hand, at separate times and in separate dojos. Having both been in Kyokushinkai for a number of years we found shotokan to be a joke, taught by terrible instructors. Not to mention they were giving out black-belts like candy. In Kyokushinkai you have train for something like 5-6 years, be over 14, and withstand a 4 hour grading.
Those person who hold the stick needs more training. They hit in the wrong way and many of them have to do it over again...terrible....

I am a man of Japanese 39 years old.
I do Kyokushin karate in Japanese Tokyo.
The obi is a black belt holder.
In a long way, I did very severe training till I acquired ranking in Judo.
The pattern practice with a partner of the lesson breaks it twice a year to fight seriously.
By this severe lesson, I was able to get the tough body and mind.
Kyokushin karate is the splendid martial arts.

The action that begins at around 01:45. Is that original kata or is it more of a crowd-pleaser?
FredDude27 3 years ago
it is not original kyokushin kata. original kata is at the beginning, between 0:05 and 1:20. this kata is called sanchin

I think what 6makoto9 means is when you said "Kyokushinkai is the traditional Japanese art, taught by it's true masters."
As you most likely know, Kyokushin's founder was korean, he just took on a Japanese name.

It's this Festival I saw beginning of this year!
I'd never heard about Kyokushin before...
Few days after, I was searching the net for more information...
Always thought Karate was crap until I met my Sensei & found out about Kyokushin...
For me, it's addictive... It's a great way to improve on many levels : physically, mentally, spiritually, etc.
Kyokushin is the way !

The swedish commentator has no clue though (he is a swedish boxer), he thinks that the guy geting hit by planks is mas oyama.
But he is interested in the sport, even if he does not know anything about the art.
