I was introduced to Wallis & Matilda's music as a 16 yr old many yrs ago by a Vic Railways bloke (Brian Harridence) & have been "hooked" by their music style ever since.
Thank you so much for posting this... I remember listening to this on my parents radiogram! I always got teary (and still do it seems) when I hear that his hardy mountain pony could hardly raise a trot... His name was Andy in the book adaptation and Denny in the movie....
THANK U, THANK U, THANK U, It has been nearly 30 years since i have heard that version of this poem, ISNT JUST THE GREATEST, Im out to get it as soon as possible my father has the old records and yes it is available on CD. if any one wants to Google Wallis And Matilda they have a web page with all their details on how and where to get there material.
THANK U Didgeinator92 youve helped bring back some young memories to an old girl x x x x x
My mum was Australian, and decades ago (I won't say how many) a fellow gave me a tape of most of "Pioneers" (cut the title song itself short, unfortunately) when I was performing Aussie songs at a folk festival in Seattle. I learned it and performed it myself the next year...it went over like gangbusters. Having lost the tape ages ago, it's great to hear this again. Thanks!
When I was in high school my Dad played all of Wallis and Matilda, I am now 43 and I love them now as I did back then, Im sure Banjo Paterson is up there tapping his foot to all your wonderful work.
I have listened to this so many times over the last 25 years, that I know it off by heart. Clancy of the overflow too, I have the original pioneers tribute to A.B. Patterson, as well as the wallis & matilda.
Years ago I fell in love with this group... Have them on a reel-to-reel tape from a long time ago... another life time. Wallis & Matilda are excellent. Thank you.
Yeah, couldn't agree more with you. It would sound so much better in one piece, and would be much easier for me to put together. Cheers for watching and commenting. All the best.

I only have these two songs at the moment, from my previous comment. But it's a possibility. Thanks for commenting and all the best.

Love the pioneers album, I think it was by Wallis and Matilda.
Pity this isn't in one continuous piece.
