  • What kind of nursing cover do/did you have??

  • hey i was wondering if you were ever really worried about SIDS. I'm 20 weeks pregnant and I feel like i'm going to have a lot of problems with worrying about that to the point that i'm always going to be watching my baby and i'm not going to want to sleep a blink. did it ever trouble you? and if it did for how long?

  • Did you use any nipple creams when your nipples got sore the first week? Like medela cream or lansinoh cream? what did you use or did to help with the soreness?

  • Is there any foods you avoid while breastfeeding?

  • @PrinzessinDelirium 1. It only hurts for the first week and if you do it right then it most likely won't hurt at all. 2. Buying the bottles, preparing the bottles, warming the bottles, and finding the right temperature all while you have a screaming baby then trying to get them to go back to sleep takes MUCH longer than just pulling your boob out and them falling right back asleep. 3. It's called pumping 4. Your breasts get saggy from being pregnant, it has nothing to do with breastfeeding.

  • Sometime is much easier we hear and understand the fact & truth from a completely stranger that a family member! And you are right! I will try to breastfeeding my baby! thanks for had open my eyes...

  • @PrinzessinDelirium Honestly, I think you're just being selfish..

  • Yes you are completely right probably i am being selfish... Sorry for i have write what it's on my mind at this moment!

  • Just a little update in my case... thanks to you in open my eyes in time... I am breastfeeding my son, and was almost exactly like you told me in a private message hurts only the first few times then we get used to... and btw i am not a selfish i was only scared being a Mon so young @ 17.

  • my mom didn't breastfeed my sister and had postpartum depression but she breastfed the rest of us(3 others) and didn't have it..so makes sens now lol...But i was breastfed and had horrible ear infection as an infant and my sister was younger sister was breastfed and has asthma...So i guess it's different for everychild but the postpartum depression part makes so much sense now

  • u should try herbale life products. they realli help lose weight if ur realli tryna lose weight

  • But I'm gonna breastfeed!!!!!!!!!!!! Because of this video!!! Thank you soooooooooooooooo much

  • My mom bottle feeds.. And trust me it does not take 20 minutes..

  • Do you find it hard not to pump sometimes, or not supplement with formula when lets say your out in public?

  • @kardancer1 Not at all. I have a very useful and easy to use nursing cover that I pack in the diaper back for everywhere we go. I've never had any trouble feeding her in public =)

  • You are so awesome mate! I hope you can keep educating people about this!

  • I am definitely gonna breastfeed when I have kids. :)

  • Heys!

I couldn't help but notice, you said that Lilia wakes up everynight at 3... and in one of year early videos you made in your "teen weeks" somewhere, you said you often woke up at 3 as well...just thought it was interesting that you both seem to have similar timing :)

  • im going to breastfeed but im just scared its going to hurt.

  • one thing i do have to point out is that after you breastfeed her no matter day or night, during sleep or not, when she is done, always prop her up and burp her. the reason many breastfed babies get ear infections is because of the pressure in their bellies that a burp can remove. Imagine having a burp but stay layin down as adults. so its just a suggestion. you can co sleep but do pick her up and burp her immediately afterwards.

  • @paprichaat5

I don't understand the connection between belly pressure and ear infections...I believe breastfeeding in general reduces the chances of having ear infections. I breastfeed sidelying my 7 month old and she's never had an ear infection...I've never heard that.

  • You don't lose baby weight by breastfeeding. You are supposed to consume more calories to metabolize enough breast milk...so therefore, you really only burn roughly 200 calories by breastfeeding. It is NOT proven that it Helps to lose weight. It's more of a hormonal change that determines postpartum weight loss as well as water weight. But thanks for the vid.

  • @jtamboer /you do lose weight faster when you breastfeed because it causes your uterus to contract and shrink. read up on google about breastfeeding and losin weight

  • @paprichaat5

yes that is correct, i don't need to read up on it to know the facts because I have already done my reading. Yes, you do lose uterine weight and water weight BUT if you want to actually lose what REALLY matters which is the fat storage that was gained from being pregnant, YOU DON'T lose that while breastfeeding unless you diet, which is not recommended when breastfeeding anyway.

  • AWESOME VIDEO! I was unable to b/f my oldest, but am still b/f my youngest who is 4 months! It was really hard the first few months but it has gotten alot better. Very good information too. :) I will definatly have to share this with friends when they are unsure cause you have all the info in one video. Thank you!

  • You totally changed my mind about breast feeding!

i wasnt sure to do it but after watching your vids im going to do it

& i wanted to say im so happy for you, you have a cute happy

family :) & your baby is to cute! thanks for making these videos!

    -lanie.

  • @lmejma I'm so glad I changed your mind!! I hope everything works out!! =) Let me know if you ever have any questions!

  • so im 9 weeks pregnant and i was thinkin about what i should do and i think that you pretty much helped me make my mind up. so i just wanted to say thanks!

  • @19lynae No problem! I'm glad I could help =)

  • I looooove you're stroller. It's green for boy or girl incase you have a boy later down the road, but it's not a reeeally girly green or a really boyish green, Its. . .perfect!

  • Thanks for the video Jess! It was really interesting to hear how much money breastfeeding saves and all the things it prevents the baby from getting :) Thanks for the info! I will definitely be breastfeeding.

  • Hello, Jessica - what about a video about what you used and not used from your hospital bag? I am 34 weeks now, and in 2 weeks I'll start putting mine together. Although it's baby # 3, it's been a big gap (7 years) since baby # 2. I remember not using ANYTHING from my hospital bag. I used from diapers to panties, all hospital-provided. Only the go-home outfit for baby was picked out of my bag. How was it for you? And don't you love the hospital paper towels? Where do they get them? So soft

  • also another good thing about breastfeeding is that its a MAJOR calorie burner, and it will help u lose weight a whole lot faster than women who decide not to breastfeed:))) thats one of the main reasons why i will definitely be breastfeeding if im able to, of course aside from the fact that its perfect for baby's health;) also eat a really healthy diet along with breastfeeding although u get so much hungrier than when u r pregnant so be careful not to over-indulge;)

  • "pull out a boob" hahah I'd definitely prefer that ;)

  • Im Breastfeeding !!

  • I breastfed my kids and they are super healthy. I never had to take them to the emergency room, never spent any night up with a sick baby. I'm a total believer. Also, the breast milk changes according to the needs of the baby. Formulas are always the same, they can't do that. Good for you, Jess!

  • @adripaez Exactly! I believe it too. Thanks and good for you too! =)

  • @adripaez My 12 month old is SUPER healthy. I never had to take him to the ER and like you, I also never had to spend a sick night OR day with a sick baby. To this day, he has not had not one single cold or stomach bug or ear infection. But unlike your kids, my son was and still is formula fed. As healthy and happy as can be. Smart as a whip and right on target with all his milestones. I know a woman who breastfed and her daughter was a very sickly baby.

  • @cccw2009 Which only proves that there is no right or wrong: It's whatever works for each mom. I am happy to hear that you have a very healthy child. Formula is different than breastmilk, but I'm sure it is very good stuff also. I too know kids that aren't as healthy, and were breastfed... there's more to a person than just being or not being breastfed or formula-fed. We will always advocate for whichever we chose as feeding method, and there is nothing wrong with that, agree? Cheers!

  • I had no idea there were so many benifits to breast feeding!

  • @Super111L Yep! And there's even more, this wasn't even half of it! =)

  • Another thing is, which my mum told me when i was saying about your video is that the reason it was painful for you to breastfeed in the beggining is because your uterus contracts back to its normal state while your breat feeding so you also 'deflate' faster =]

  • @lozis15 Very true! I forgot to mention that. I didn't experienced that too much so it didn't really come to my mind. Good point though, lol!

  • They are fantastic points, i know what you mean about getting up then making the formula its horrible :( i wish i could have breastfed, but i couldn't :( but good luck with it u look like ur doing an amazing job :)

  • @Sammiiexoxo91 Thank you! I'm sorry you couldn't breastfeed, maybe you can with your next child! =)

  • @GabeandJesss I hope so i breast fed for like 2-3 days so he got the colostrum which is good :)

  • @ana1mcr Haha seriously!! =)

  • @BubblyEdwards Thank you!! I'm glad I could help =)

  • hey im not trying to be rude but you should still give formula moms some props too lol...some people cant breastfeed...just a thought lol its not a hater message.

  • @ryandi22 That's why I emphasized that this is just why I, personally, chose breastfeeding. Moms who formula feed are just as awesome! I don't judge them at all =)

  • Well done you, i chose to breast feed for almost the exact sdame reasons. its great for bonding too. enjoy, they grow up so quickly :o)

  • @emtabby Thank you! I know, I can't believe she's already over a week old!!

  • omgosh she is wearing my outfit! She is soooooo cute!!!!!

  • @LindsandBaby Aww!! lol, I freaking LOVE that outfit. Definitely one of my favorites! =)

  • in your point of view do you think pumping is good as well

  • @quirino89 I believe it's better than formula feeding. You just don't get the bonding to go along with it.

  • The reason we have boobs on our bodies is to breast feed, can't use them for anything else lol.. So glad you looked in to it and made the best choice for u :) I'm not a mum but I'll deffinently be breastfeeding :))

  • @OoOMeEgZOoO Exactly! Good for you! =)

  • she looked so cute!

wow so pros of breastfeeding is great.

SO TRUE my moms always sayin to me... like frigin clean bottle and all the peices for it, sterilized warm water, or even pre-made like in the fridge u have to use bottle warmer and those things are annoying! and so hard to know when they crazy hot and then if its too hot you have to wait it out and its just awful!

  • @ReillyAJ Exactly!! I don't know why anyone would ever choose to bottle feed.

  • @GabeandJesss i know eh/

well see some people i know who CHOOSE to not breastfeed, chose to because they think its gross. like ???

  • I think that is great that you are nursing. I also think co-sleeping is great it, it worked for us and loved it.

  • @hartrose33 Thank you! Same for us =)

  • did it hurt at first???

  • @Taryn72 Yesss, a lot.

  • i only breat fed for a month because it started to get to much for me, and now i really regret it. its such a bonding thing. i miss it so much.

  • @emileeshbemalee Well at least you did it for some time. That's better than nothing =)

  • I had my daughter at 27 and honestly didn't put as much thought into BFing as you have (although I did still do it). Good on you for being so educated about the merits of BFing. You are a wonderful role model to other young mums, so many of whom don't even attempt to BF because of rampant misinformation and societal pressure. I hope your experience will help normalise BFing for other teens. Good job Mumma!

  • @MsEz81 Thank you!! =)

  • I hate to say breastfeeding is "best". Its not best. Its NORMAL. It is what our bodies are made to do! And it is of course the best thing for your baby, it is created for them specifically. It is so amazing isn't it? Formula feeding however is inferior. Formulas are and never could be as good as breast milk is for babies! I am so glad you are spreading some of the benefits of breastfeeding! I wish more women wouldn't give up because they are so misinformed or have lack of support!

  • @MandeeTheGreat Exactly!!! I completely agree! =)

  • ...I've decided. When I have children, I'm gonna breast feed. I never knew it was so beneficial!!!

  • @hitheresunshine That is so awesome!! I'm SO glad I could help you come to that decision =)

  • Nursing ur baby is honestly 1 of the best things u'll ever do..creates such a significant bond between mother & baby..1 that u cant explain until u've gone through it yourself. & u'll actually find Lilia is alot more clingy 2 u then what she would be if she was formula fed all part of that bond.

Also breastmilk creates such a strong immune system in your baby. We've recently gone through a flu season here in Australia & all my friends babies were catching a cold & we managed to avoid it :)

  • @kookaiiz That's so awesome!!! Breastfeeding is just amazing on all levels. Good job for sticking to it! =)

  • I think it's great that you're exclusively breastfeeding Lilia! I know that when I have a baby, I want to breastfeed as well. I think it's awesome that you're so educated about it. I know you're going to help a lot of moms and moms-to-be! =D

  • @aprilc0t That's so awesome! Thanks =)

  • I was breastfed but my

    mom still got breast cancer.

    Guess she was the

    slim chance?

  • @helloimkennedy18 Aww! It must've been. I'm so sorry! My grandma had breast cancer too, so it runs in my family =(

  • thanks for the info about breastfeeding... keep updated!!

  • @MyluvFernie No problem! Will do =)

  • *i love watchin your videos. Lilia is such a little cutie. i do not have a baby nor am i pregnant but i somehow came across your videos and i have watched them all. i enjoy watching them. congrats to jess and gabe on your new little princess! :) *

  • @andreanichole17 Aww thanks!

  • :( I got PPD bcuz she wouldnt latch on at all and cried every single day for a while until i starting pumping and giving her bottles but i wasnt making enough so now i have to supplement! I am really happy for you though that you are able to BF and proud of u for doing it. I truly wish I could.

  • @desimom18 Aww! I'm so sorry =( Maybe with your next baby you can try again.

  • @shvvAnk Thanks! =)

  • What?

I go on a family trip and come back and you already had the baby!

    WHOA!

  • @SamsAHippie lol! You missed out on a lot!

  • Jess, your such a great mum and mentor for other pregnant women! This has just set in stone even more my decision to breast feed. My reasons behind choosing too is exactly the same as yours. I can't wait until I can having that type bonding with my daughter, it's so important to me as a first time mum aswell. I'm so proud of you and Gabe you've blossomed into the most beautiful parents Lilia could have asked for. Bless you both XX

  • @psalm41aus Thank you so much! That means so much to me. I hope I can help a lot of people with my videos =)

  • Yeah, don't co-sleep for too long because I did for a long time (with my mom, I only slept for 2 hours in my own bassinet, haha), and we're way too attached. I'm independent, but we, like, can't leave each other.

  • @stoneific Aww! That's actually kinda cute, lol =) I'm not planning on co-sleeping for long though.

  • I am definitely going to give breast feeding a try. This is my third pregnancy, I did try to pump and breast feed my second baby but I waited until a week after I had her so I found it really hard to produce enough milk for her as my body was starting to dry up, and while trying to entertain and care for a year two old time really wasn't on my side. But I plan on feeding this one as soon as I have it and pray it will work. Great videos =]

  • @taramaher You really should! I wish you the best of luck with breastfeeding this time around. Make sure you watch my next video on surviving the first week, it might help you a little =)

  • nursing bras!...where did you get yours, do you like them, what do you recommend?

  • @soshethinks I personally don't like the standard "nursing bras." I have three different bras (2 from Target, 1 from Kohl's) that just unsnap at the top but don't have the ring around them. It's really a personal preference. Try different kinds on and see what feels comfortable =)

  • Exactly what we have boobs for! And it has so many benefits! You go girl!

  • @tearsfalling4ever Exactly! So true =)

  • u do talk alot........hmmmm lol join the club :)

  • @juicyvids lol I really do! You should see how much I edit out..

  • I'm almost 20 & you seem so much older than me. I have been with my boyfriend for almost 4 yrs I want a baby so bad. I'm terrified to breastfeed tho the main reason why is because I don't want my bf touching my babies food if we get sexual lol. But I sortof have ovarian cancer cells so breastfeeding wouldn't help that. But i'm thinking about it now after watching this. I also think it's weird that its called formula like in math.

  • @DMCxxo lol! I never thought of it like that. I'm sure it won't bother you while you're in the moment. You should DEFINITELY consider it =)

  • Have you experienced any postpartum depression so far? I hope not, but I hear that MOST moms have post baby blues.

  • @strandedtxgirly I wouldn't say "most" moms. That's not true at all.

  • @sweetheartChristina I misunderstood. Thank you!

  • @strandedtxgirly Really? I've had a couple breakdown moments but that's just from sleep deprivation, not post partum depression. I'm so happy I don't have it!

  • @GabeandJesss Ok good! Like I said, I'd "heard" that most did but only from some family members. Misinformation on my part!

  • It helps to burn calories and it better for the baby.

  • @Lisa13245 Yep =)

  • brestfeeding is better for the baby and the mother, so good on ya :)

  • @mascaragirl818 Haha yep!

  • Breasts are the best! so glad you chose to breast feed. hard work but DEFINITELY WORTH IT.

  • @Thetiah Yes it is! I completely agree =)
