while I'm not sure how much an indie-rocker chick might feel about having her tribute video be a Lindsay Lohan song, this video is definitely done very well.
Those ten comics actually made me cry. It made me think twice about my suicidal intentions and how it doesn't just hurts me, but it also hurts my family. All that sad stuff aside, like a lot of ppl said, Jeph Jaques would definitely be going crazy if he saw this music video.
And this video has been around long enough and was posted to the QC forum, so I figure Jeph's probably seen it at least once, for good or for ill. ^_^;;
Thank you. I didn't set out to create a depressing video. I just heard the song playing on the radio around the time the comic was up to the point Faye was visiting her father's grave and it just kinda came together.
I've been reading QC for quite a while now (about 2 years or so) and I've got to say, while I don't like this song, it fit really well with the video which was really well done, seriously. I enjoyed the heck out of this. On a side note, strip 500 was honestly crazy; there was so much traffic on the site the following week, lol.
No, really, I was asking whether or not her father is dead. I think that it would be a very strange song to record if you had a living father and an even stranger one for him to listen to.
Wow, that was amazing - the images and the way you tell the story. I always associated Faye with the John Mayer song, "Daughters." But this works really well too. Perhaps another video?
Wow, I love this video. You really captured Faye's feelings and emotions in this video. And I can't believe that I actually like a lindsay lohan song, but I do. Great job! Love it!

Damn. I'll be right back, I need a tissue...
OK. So, does anyone else hear this and think "Daughter to Father, Daughter to Father, can you still read me?"

Well, that left a lump in my throat. Well done indeed.

Londsay Lohan might not be a good artist but this song is beautiful with the artwork (and, of course, the whole knowledge of Faye's childhood).

Jeph Jacques will forever be the awesomest motherfucker EVER. Deathmole is fucking incredible too

I don't think I've ever cried because of a comic before... this one messed up THAT track record. J. Jacques is a talented, talented guy.

Interesting idea. Well-made.
By the way, this was probably the first music video that I've seen with comic pictures in it.

Been a QC fan for a while, and while you chose a very depressing aspect of the comic, I have to say that this video was very well done.

Why did you choose such a terribly depressing sub-arc?

lindsay lohan? r u kidding me... you butcher what QC stands for

Like everyone, I think that this isn't the best song for QC. Still, this is actually an amazing video.

You put a pop song to a comic about indie music. Jeph would have seizures if he saw this.

I could see the poor guy writhing on the floor.

It's a good video, I liked it.
I can't help wonder what Jeph Jacques would say if he heard Lindsay Lohan playing though.

Thanks! IT did feel weird using such a pop song for QC, but the lyrics just fit so well.

Is Lindsay Lohan's father dead?
unstoppableforce 4 years ago
not as far as I know. I think the song is about a daughter abandoned by her father. It made me think of this story from QC though and I used it
taigan 4 years ago
Well, it's her own damn fault for going back and trying to save him.
Kidding, that's a heartless rhing to say.
Anyone find the irony in lindsay lohan doing to a webcomic of indie rock???
ybtpr 4 years ago
Yes, I was *fully* aware of the irony and offer my heartfelt apologies. =p

This was really emotional, you did a very good job.
I cried the first time I read the part of QC where Faye tells Marten about her dad.

This video sums up why Faye Whitaker was (and is) seriously screwed-up. An event like that you never recover from. You just go on.
A pity that the time-travel thing with her going back to *that moment* wasn't included as a coda. But excellent nonetheless.
edinedinburgh 4 years ago
I love it. although it was odd when her complextion changed from white to regular continously, but that's Jeph's fault.
