Yet another Chloe here. Except my full first name is ChloeDanser and I was named after Chloe dancer crown of thorns. Although I do love the Danser part of my name, I would of rather been named after this song. It's a good song!
I attended this show. Elton mentions during the concert that it was a beautiful venue and evening...it truly was.. Great to see Elton outdoors before amphitheaters became popular.
I listened to this live on the radio the night it was first broadcast. Recorded it and listened to it a hundred times before the tape died. The Starlight Theater in Kansas City. Thanks for posting. Post more of the concert if you have it.
This concert is fantastic. Elton was in amazing shape and the set list was awesome. He did "Teacher, I Need You" at this show which I don't think he had ever done live. This is a great version of a sadly forgotten song.
The 1982 Jump Up tour was, in my opinion, the best thing since his '74 tour. I saw him 3 nights in a row about a week after the Kansas City show. It was just amazing to see the original band - all happy and having a BLAST!
i freekin love this tunnee iv always loved off E.J but my god this is my message alert on my phone lol sad or what!! I fink cos my name is chloe i feel its for me ha ha o well GO CHLOE'S woop woop lololol realli wana get tickets for his next concert xx
Wasn't Tim Renwick playing guitar for Elton at the time? He is very distinctive and it sounds just like him... in fact I'm pretty sure it is. He played in Pink Floyd for a while too, and is VERY good.
But this is a live version. The album doesn't even credit a guitarist but it wasn't Davey. However, this is Davey playing here. This was the Jump Up! tour--just EJ, Davey, Dee and Nigel. I've heard the entire LA concert from this tour and it is amazing. Great set list if you like hearing new and rarely played songs and Davey totally rocked.
to jnoble12: the guitar solo is sweet, isn't it? What do you think that is? Johnstone can emit the most amazing sounds from his guitar (theres an amazing vid on YouTube -"creating Funeral for a friend"- but I can't tell without watching -is that slide guitar or steel guitar? Anyone know?
My eldest daughter is named for this song and it cannot be anything but the best thing EJ has ever done. Haunting and reverent, for all of us who have fault and are sorry, a plea to forgive what has (and inevitably WILL) be our shortcoming---careless focus and the act without thought. Forgive me, Chloe'----I WILL always be your friend. Dad

My name is Chloe and this is probably my favorite song. This is where my parents got my name because they danced to this song the day they met.

Yeah I just looked it up, Renwick played the guitars on 'The Fox'...Davey Johnstone's name isn't mentioned in the credits at all.
