how's this for a step in the right direction? all citizens 18 or above are automatically registered voters. you are fined $20 for NOT voting. on the ballot under all the candidates' names are FOR and AGAINST boxes. you get to vote for or against each candidate. against votes are subtracted from a candidate's total. if all candidates get more AGAINST than FOR votes, they are all disqualified, and a new election with new candidates is held.

Casinos are a rather small issue compared to the Iraq war, national energy policy, or foreign policy, all of which are Gov. Richardson's strengths.

Economy: What I've found was his reversing unemplyoment in New Mexico by offering tax breaks for businesses. That's what several cities (such as mine) do when they're desperate for jobs and it's how our towns are black-mailed by corporations.
