to reply to Greenlovexo the white puffs on landing are rather blueishist in color and are tire smoke not so mucht due to impact as to the fact that these rather large wheels are not turning before touching the runway and then almost instantly are forced to rotate by the runway going by at maybe 150mph or more and they are heavy and take some amount of friction toget up to speed if small electric motors got those wheels turning before landing there would be no smoke but this not needed
It is a sparrow, they're pretty notorious visitors at machester airport. The low FPM of the camera and the distance of the bird to the focused lens makes it appear faster than actually it is. The low FPM of the camera captures probably only 3 images of the bird, the faster it travels the less number of frames the camera captures.
Sparrows are known their speed and agility but the eye is able to capture more than a blurred streak. Good observation though!!!
depends on the different version of planes or make of planes, they are mainly put on there for Aerodynamical reasons, the Airbus are normally two little winglets going up and down where the A330 and A340 and boeing have winglets that go straight up. The 777, 747 & 767 have now winglets on any versions where as the 757, 737, 787 etc, they either have optional or permanent winglets.
That Air China 747 looked nice and heavy as it touched down. Bet it departs MAN light as a feather by comparison after dropping off its cargo of cheaply made goods and discount products!
so? What has that got to do with anything? I assume you're referring to the British Airtours 737-200 crash... that could have happened at any airport! It was the aircraft, not the airports fault! Remember the 743 crash just short of East Midlands? The trident crash, killing over 100 after takeoff from LHR? And Lockerbie? So say EGCC is unsafe now. We've had no accidents in the last thirty yearns.
Been to that exact spot, if the wind is blowing across the runway towards you then you're often exposed to the smell of burnt rubber.
I prefer the viewing park though, and during non-summer times it can prove difficult accessing that route through the muddy pathway. But the hill rises above the fence giving you a clear view on 23/24R landings.
Viewing departures on 23L is also nearby, and allows spotters to view aircraft lining up.
@hammer3456 i don't know which comment u r answering. but i guess u mean that Qatar A330-200. Yes, because A330 and A340 are designed to flare at a low altitude above the runway.
What days do A300's go to manchester? And where can i find out?

supposidly straight up winglets improve short range efficiency, and raked winglets provide better long range efficiency.

I don't think Manchester airport is safe. More people have died on the runway there than at any other UK airport.
