The great Paul Linden was my advisor/mentor/professor all through college. He played for Sean and knowing that I'm a guitarist and guitar enthusiast, turned me on to the amazing playing of Mr. Costello. So sad he's no longer with us - the brightest lights always burn out too early.
I've been listening to Mr. Costello for several years. This is my favorite of his songs. It's absolutely brilliant. His tone on his goldtop is beyond beautiful, and I don't think that anyone has ever played with more emotion.
Best cover of this song I've ever heard. Maybe I'm wrong, but I think the solo at the end (which is awesome, by the way) is deliberately directed at a noisy guy in the crowd.
so great. one of the few who could get into that zone. like stevie or jimi . they became one powerful force when they got it going.you cant learn it. and few can get there. this guy was special !!!
Beautiful version of this great song. I followed his career for a number of years. I was first interested in him from an interview in, I think, "Blues Revue." He was deeply respectful of other blues musicians: wise beyond his years. His loss is one that really haunts me. I was about to write that he was on his way to being one of the all-time greats. But that's not right: he was one of the all-time greats. It's just sad that we had too little of his great work.
Zarkoon, My son told me about this incredible talent a couple of years ago. I am so sad to hear about his passing. He, I think, is truly what blues and this music is about. RIP Sean.
Brother, I have just heard about you and it is so sad that I can not see you live.. You had something most people can never achieve.. Sincere. Dave D.. London Ontario,,
You're right witlessandtitless! It could be amazing! It's pretty hard to make nice covers of Bob Dylan's songs, but not for Sean Costello! Wonderful version of this tune!
If he hasn't written a hit by now, its not likly its gonna happen, 'deal or no deal'. There's a lot of musicians out there like Costello; talented/nowhere. The song makes an artist.
agreed i stumbled across this guy the other month and since have religiously watched everyone of these living room videos every day since. why he hasnt got more exposure is beyond me
Beyond me too, but I guess it takes more time than I would like it to take. Sean's been working hard out on the road and did a tour of Europe in the past year. I will be putting up more video of Sean - need time to review the tapes. Glad you enjoy what's up currently!

Blues on a Les Paul...cool. The reason no ones heard of him is teh same old song and dance... no hit song.

Sean recently got a new record deal so maybe he'll have a hit album.
