Anyone else think she needs more songs like this? Please reply because I don't know if I'm the only one. 81 and Jackrabbits have to be my favourite of her songs, simply because the harp playing is elegant, but so is her voice. It doesn't change pitch every 10 seconds, there's no shrieking and doesn't sound like a small girl.
DON'T GET ME WRONG. I like a lot of Joanna's songs, it's just that I feel, her voice is so beautiful singing in a almost continuous pitch compliments it a lot. Agreed?

Disappointing.
I was hoping Joanna's next album would return to more traditional song structures like the ones from Milk Eyed. Instead we get more of the Y's style long medieval ballads with multiple tempo changes that are more difficult to sing along with.
I was a huge fan, but I'm becoming less of a fan quickly.
Give us more "Book of Right On", "This Side of the Blue", and "En Gallop" ( possibly her best song ever ).
This new stuff is pretty, but overly complicated and a snooze.

i was just explaining this to my roommate the other night. joanna newsom is a phenomenon of utter beauty. she is hope and light in the face of war and uncertainty. i wonder if she knows?
Reminiscent of "What we have known" and some of her earlier, pre-MEM work. And stunning, and heartbreakingly wonderful as is per course with Joanna. I can't wait to see her in March!
Agreed. I'm extremely openminded and listen to any kind of style and music. NONE, absolutely no artist/band strikes me as emotionally deep as her music and voice does. It's amazing how she does that. I have a pretty bitter and sad view upon the earth and humanity but each time I hear her sad and beautiful melodies I get filled joy, happiness and hope. Every once in a while that happen with some other songs, but with ALL of her songs? That rates pretty high. Thank you for being born, Joanna!
this is absolutely amazing. i don't know how joanna does it, but her music strikes so deep... just gorgeous. fills me with an odd nostalgia, a fondness for a time and place i've never been. her voice especially sounds incredible in this clip. wow.

What tour was this for?
Joanna Newsom's tour? What bands did she have as support? Also, how many people were there?

The title is indeed Jack Rabbits. The album is called Have One on Me, and it comes out late february, I think.

You have described it EXACTLY, that's what I feel too!! So fey and wild and yet manicured english gardens and fairy castles.
