@shadowcrawler687 Bottom line it's SEGA's fault. Months of no Updates/New Content cause players to leave the PS2/PC server. PC players have a big selection of other MMOs to choose from & so they went else where. It got to the point where the PS2/PC server population would have 1 to 2 stars on any given day. There just weren't not enough people playing the PS2/PC server to keep it open. IMO if the 360 server had variety of MMOs to go to, the population would have die there too.
man, i wish they could have kept it. i cant believe they lost it...its so sad. once xbox 360 is gone, they might make new ones for different game systems witch will go out also. and what i want to know is why they had to let go of it. was it that they coudlnt pay for it anymore? Or was it that people never played it. its just so sad. inever got the chance to experience the greatness and the power of it. let it res in peace with the players who once played psu/pc server.
Oh, man, I'm gonna miss all the friends I made on this game :\ it's a shame, I met some really awesome people on PSU. And, for old time's sake... SPAM!
It was an awesome game no doubt about it in some ways, I remember the first day it came out, the lobbies were filled with people and Server 1-2 had 5 stars, but the game lacked so much content which was the big turn off for a lot of players. This game had so much potential, I've been around the 3 years, I've seen it born, grown and die, I've met a lot of good people during my journey, some people I wonder what happened to them, thanks for sharing, this game will live in my memories forever.
360 version will no doubt be gone soon as well. Total ghost town. Half star for both universes.....its just sad. I quit a few months ago but ill always rememeber all the good times with psu.
As someone else quoted, their will always be different mmo's, but nothing like psu.
@Justsmoke42O Are you saying that the 360 server has only 1/2 stars? It has never been that low on the 360 server, the lowest it has ever been was been 4 stars on one Universe & that was when there were no updates for months. Lately, it has been around 5 to 7 stars full. With the PS2/PC server now shut down, the 360 server population should increase. Since PSU's PS2/PC server player are force to migrate, if they want to continue to play PSU.
The Ambition of the Illumines is an Expansion pack for PSU. So yes it's still up for both XBox 360 & PS2/PC server. March 2010 is the last month to play PSU on the PS2/PC server. Once March is over, the PSU's PS2/PC server is gone for ever. ='(
I gotta say this video was so touching i cryed its like loseing a part of your self when it ends for me its like makeing someone in your likeness and then you lose it to the void its just sad PSU brought nistalga but i will move on in the concept called time there will be more mmorpgs but they will not be like PSU to all of you i bid you farwell and hope to see you in the next life [meaning some other mmorpg].
Watching this video, I couldn't help but feel both sadness and a deep sense of loss. PSU PC was my first MMO, and I have loved the Phantasy Star world since the first game in the series on Master system. PSU represented the first game in which I could share my love of PS with other players. For this reason, I feel thankful that I was able to be a part of the PSU community for so long, and I'm glad to have shared it with so many wonderful people.
I have no idea how I still haven't gotten a job by now to get a system & play this on. I've watched my friends play it, and I've had the original PSO for a while.
It feels like I'm losing a lot of great friends just watching this, probably because I've been through this before (PSO). But, I think I know what game I'm gonna be getting now! I don't know when, but soon--VERY soon.
That spirit's never leaving me, so make way, people--I'm coming home!
That guy was a former GM for PSU (Chill Aura). That pic was of his going away party. He was primarily a PC player. So that's why he had said that. I believe all the GMs preferred the PC server or the 360 server.
PC has a huge selection of MMOs, while 360 has only 3. Sega neglected PSU by NOT providing regular updates & new content. So gradually the PC players left PSU for other MMOs.
Great and touching video. I was once Neverrain and a former member of Da Familia. I'm gonna miss Phantasy Star Universe, but now this possible make room for a PS3 Phantasy Star and that's what I've been waiting on. Viva la Phantasy Star PS3/PC, it will rise again....
That was very touching. Showing the good old days of PSU, got me very emotional. While I've no way to make it to the 360 servers, I wish all of you crossing over the best of luck. May the Phantasy Star spirit never fade.
Well thanks for the Tribute, but I don't intend on migrating just so I can pay segac a bit more money and work a bit harder to get back to where I am just to be getting the shaft from em again!
The pc and ps2 server maybe be brothers, but the xbox 360 server will always be theyre cousins... We welcome you w/ open arms :) with love and care

The 360 servers are still going strong. I saw 4.5 stars in Universe 1 last night.
Plus there are so many people that don't bother to cancel either just because it is a hassle to do so.

I feel bad for you guys (PC/PS2). I mean, I cant imagine your sadness.
i just got the game, you guys have played on it for a long time. I'm sure the pc/ps2 versions were great. But now im happy that I have it on the 360.
Sorry to you all from pc/ps2. But it seems to be "The Great Migration".
