without doubt the greatest songwriter alive today his body of work speaks for itself - I'm not the biggest fan of rocknroll Ryan but love this song (if anyone wants a punk'y' Ryan Adams check out The Finger....... officially not by Ryan Adams and Jesse Malin...hehehehe)
What a fantastic song! I always return to Ryan's 'Love is Hell/Rock 'n' Roll' period - absolutely love it! It's a shame he's gone down the country route; at heart I think he's a right old rocker
definitely not his best song, but it is one of his catchier ones. he conveys a great amount of emotions in this. check out sweet illusions, or how do you keep love alive. 2 more emotional songs.
Sure this song isn't one of his most deep (trust me, there are a LOT that are), but you have to take into account that he's basically being a smart ass this entire album.
Right, so, Ryan is one the least known artists that I know of (lol, that's a contradiction) and I know this is a generalization, but his audience is quite intelligent and individualistic.
Calling people sheep seems to be a stupid fad that you embraced, you sheep.
not what I said at all. Music defines a person. If you're listening to the Pussy Cat Dolls, I gonna guess you're not too bright, but if you listen to music that has lyrical depth, then yes, I would consider you intelligent.
To me, people who listen to lyrics are more intelligent.
Lyrics are everything in a song, otherwise you might as well just listen to some drum and bass.
I agree with the guy that said if you listen to music that has lyrical depth then i consider you to be intelligent, but only if you can actually recognise the depth and meaning of the words.
alot of good instrumental bands out there..joe satriani, buckethead..maybe some steve vai
..and i never said i totally disagreed..i agree with you but.. lyrics arent everything....you can express feelings through the chords you use on a guitar or piano. ..
and it really depends on the genre of music...music like ryan adams is more about lyrics...
i pay alot more attention to lyrics in softer music than i do in metal.
Couldn't agree less. Singers are usually the weak link in any band, but they get all the attention because listeners are too lazy to try to understand abstract concepts.
fuck off who died and made you king of cool, whoever likes what they hear from this bloke who happens to have one brilliant voice, let them enjoy it... cause all you'll ever do is pass your bitter 'i got no talent' opinions
I wasn't insulting your hero, fuckface, I was responding to colouroftheblues who said only people who listen to lyrics are intelligent, or some such rubbish. Now get your panties out of a knot & go fuck yourself, jaggoff.
AMEN TO THAT. I dont give a shit about lyrics...im hearing melody and such. You could speak gibberish if you wanted. The music is what i feel, not the lyrics.
i didn't new him since i heard a song which he sung very beautiful. i think it was wonderwall. since that day i'm a very big fan of him. he is awesome. not very good looking but this is not everything that matters. he is a very brilliant singer so 5*
lol....they made me laugh too, but then it was immediately followed by sadness....for this country....and then i laughed again when i pushed "audio preview"....stupid computer voice....lol isn't a word

i totally disagree to a point..
when i listen to music..
lyrics mean nothing to me..
i like to listen how the vocals coordinate with the music...and the theory behind it..and it has to be something that i can really get into to...
