@Kakudidan It's about even. Black Sky does roughly what? 15 or so hits. While it's solely on how fast your right index finger is w/ Trigger happy lvl 3.
@ItsToshBetch A good way is (if you have Lady Luck) to have all three Able to get double items after battle. In the Farplane Abyss, you'll be able to get 8 (I think) Mega-Potions after every battle with Earthworm. That really helped make my battle with Angru Mainyu simpler.
@coalcoalcoal I know you asked a long time ago but, I think what he meant was....well like she said she would lose herself and he asked what's the loss in that, so I think he meant it was okay for her to lose herself...i cant really explain...like he had lost himself and he didnt think it was a bad thing so i think he meant that she could lose herself and it wouldn't be a loss(because she'd probably turn out like him). Sorry can't really explain good.

And, when you change drespheres. You didn't have to watch the clip of them changing, how did you do that?! xD It seems so much more beneficial not having to watch the clips.
I just use a miracle drink (mixing hero drink and any other item) so that YRP is invincible from all of Trema's attacks. You can only get a hero drink by stealing from Shuyin though.
Hero Drinks are also rare drops from the 3 nodes in the 2nd Vegnagun battle. With 3 Lady Lucks and EXTREME luck, you could get 24 in 1 game + steal 1 from Shuyin.

To push Tobli in, keep him against the wall and stay just far enough away from the wall that he can't get through and won't go around you. You must go very slow because the camera angle changes, which changes the direction you must move. You may want to push the 2 big musicians in first to get them out of the way and push them back away from the door but don't push the 3rd one until Tobli is in.
@WalkThruWalls Really? I thought/read that you need to put Tobli in first to get the Cat Nip .. and I tried to pry him against the wall, but failed. (PAL version stil, for Enterprise)
Well, once I have the NTSC-J version in my hands, I won't have to worry about that until my second playthrough (I want to try 100% for the first playthrough) Heh, wonder how I'll do with the timed Vegna without Cat Nip.
As for a previous post, the easiest way to 99 is to equip the lady luck dress-spheres to your toons and go through the infinito, and make sure that you have the extra exp bonus with the spheres.
Another approach to paragon, if you do not want to bribe him, is to equip on of your toons with catnip and with the "shooting dress-sphere with the ability trigger-happy." Get that toon in the red for HP and use trigger happy. Make sure that you have trigger happy maxxed out.
@omegagilgamesh “Toon” is a slang term for character, which in this case is either Yuna, Rikku or Paine. The term is commonly used in MMOs as a way to quickly reference one’s character (probably because people are too lazy to type or for whatever reason). I do not really like this particular slang, however considering the 500 character limit that youtube imposes, slang and abbreviations are sometimes necessary.
Easist way for me was breaking hp limit (stamina tonic) and damage limit with Mascots and using Moogle Beam and Cactling gun for like 60000 damage. My Health was like 20000 and i was on level 85. Your vid helped me heaps in planning to defeat Trema, thanks a bunch.
My personal favorite was catnip with haste boots on a trigger happy gunner. 18x9999 damage every time it comes around. With two dark knights to support her and survive any of Trema's attacks and phoenix downs only for reviving to keep her in the yellow.
In chp. 5, you must get "Episode Complete" on every place, except for Bevelle, however, if Zanarkand is the last place you visit, you will not get it, so make sure that Zanarkand is the first place you visit in chp 5
It took me 20+ attempts to kill trema without saving and I beat him with

Is it true that you have to beat all 100 Floors without saving once in order to beat the whole game? I did that and I lost to Trema without saving......*Sigh*
I must ask, does defeating Trema add 2% to your overall percentage score or is it just 1%? I have 98% in one save where the good ending requirements have been met and another save at 99%(the difference being sleeping once every chapter), but the save doesn't qualify for the good ending(forgot to visit Maechen in chapter 1 when you let him touch your hand).
not neccessarily, because not a long time after the battle against paragon begins, he'll do an attack (can't remember it's name sorry) that does an instant game-over(well my paine had 255 defense at the time and still die one-shot) so you have to beat him beforehand but trema with 255 defense is sooo easy(he hits like 200 each time so with 9999 hp you could stand a while
the 3 outfit where you have to infiltrate Guadosalam and stole back the sphere right? One is near Djose Temple just walk out and keep going left. One is in the desert in the Oasis. The last one is in Mt. Gagazet hot spring. Just keep climbing to the top.
After finishing the towers under Bevelle you come to a passage with 3 lifts at the end. Take the left lift up, then walk down (toward you) until you fall off the back edge. Take the center lift up, climb on the block and go back down. Take the right lift up, go straight across and take the left lift down. Repeat the center lift again. Take the left lift up, grab the chest, climb on the two blocks, take the new lift up. Get D.K., save and EQUIP GUN MAGES NOW (Hint).
IMO, This is overally compliacted. I just put on crystal bangles on all, then adamantite on an alchemist, and defense bracers on 2 Dark knights, use a soul spring to get rid of all his MP, then use darkness and alot of megalixers that you get from using congrats on the land worm. Works a treat.
thats pretty much what i do and it works like a charm. The thing I love about this game is that there r more ways than one and more strategies involved when taking a fiend/boss down. Since each dressphsre is different in abilities n stats it makes each battle strategically different from others.
Still remember doing Trema with this tactic a couple of years ago. Possibly the most epic boss fight out of all the Final Fantasy games, it feels really satisfying once you finally beat him. Thanks again for the vid!
nah there all easy just mix dark matter and holy water to get invincible, and that buys you about 3-4 turns of getting hit by nothing at all. and then just congrats everything except for trrema congrats dont work on him
took me about 3-5 tries to successfully bribe him with 3 living party members without having him actually oversouled
at trema, i did the spherechange thing with valiant lustre gg but into mascots instead because they have better stats all-around in my opinion and they all had auto protect

No, but it may take several tries. You should have the first up (other than LL) use Mega-Phoenix and the next use Megalixir. Unfortunately, LL is probably most likely to die before she uses the bribe. Aside from its hit-all attacks being quite nasty, it seems to go after LL if it uses a single attack. Some recommend using First Strike but it's better to equip for defense since you can't change before facing Trema. If you intend to use Cat Nip, you can do that and change LL to Gunner for Trema.
the first time I defeated trema I was using 2 darknights and one gunner equipped with the cat nip accessory! It was hard! It took me one hour and half or something like that. The second time was easy as pie! Used two mascots (the best dressphere for me)and a gunner again to use trigger happy with cat nip ;) It took me only half an hour xD With accessories as adamantite equipped and those beautifull stats of mascot is actually very easy to win!
i'm having trounle killing trema i went by the method of 2 character as gunner. 1 character as berserker. all 3 have speed bracer. 2 gunners have catnip and the berserker character have crystal bangle which increase hp by 100'/. so bersker have 9999 hp while the other 2 have to stay at crtical hp at 600. i always end up getting killed by trema when he uses meteor and wipes all 3 character. his regular attack hits hard too. so how do i get my defence high and still hit 9999? ur equips are?
Worst possible combination. 1-Berserker can't take a hit, 2-Two CN's die immediately at Meteor, leaving your 3rd to die, 3-Increasing HP only makes you heal more. Use a DS with good Def & MDef on Valiant Lustre GG (change DS thru all nodes to start any battle, you keep Def+ even if you die), equip Defense Bracer and best Def+. Only way to win w/ 2 CN's is to kill him before Meteor (25+ hits per Trigger Happy without dying after 2). With 1 CN, the other 2 can easily survive if you keep HP up.
You can use Stamina Tonic to increase HP but if you already have 6K-7K it causes Meteor to hit harder than necessary. Though it does help to survive regular hits and IS recommended after the 2nd Meteor to prepare for Ultima (if Trema still has MP). Just be sure to have full HP when he uses Meteor. Note: You can use 2 CN's if you be sure not to do more than 50 hits, then fully heal 1 before Meteor.
how much gil is needed to sucessfully bribe paragon? i want to battle trema without fighting paragon first. I know i could use a garment grid that has first strike and use catnip for gunner, but i just wanna fight trema.

Kilika EpCom has only to do with the comms in Ch4. There are 2 comms, one is broken. For the first 2 scenes on the other one, you must zoom in on Donna for her to speak and wait until she is finished. For the next 2, just wait until they are finished and that comm will be broken also.
2 - It was only released in Japan. You would have to import it and have a Japanese PS2 or purchase something to force your PS2 to play it. So, I'm sure you would know if you have it.
The part in which you must send out three chocobos of each level out into spira without them running away. It will reveal the chocobo dungeon but i need help getting there.
You find the Amazing Chocobo at the end of the Chocobo dungeon after completing it. It will be in the center stall on the top floor of the Chocobo Ranch after you find it but it doesn't seem to be any good for anything.
Send 3 or 4, fight 7 random battles (if you send Amazing Choc, you must fight more) and save before talking to Clasko. If one doesn't return with Mounted Assault or Strength of One GG, reload and talk to him again.
While watching this video, I noticed that sometimes Trema prepares to do a spell, but never actually gets around to casting it. For example, at around 8:12 he's about to cast Ultima, but doesn't actually do it. Do you know why this is?
For NA version, Soul Spring removes his MP but he still does Meteor ( a physical attack ). For International version, he gets Spellspring ( 0 MP cost ).
First, you must have talked to Clasko in Ch.1 or Ch.2. If you did, go to the old monster cave in Calm Lands and help him open the Choc Ranch. Then send out 3 Level 1 Chocs, fight 7 battles, save game, talk to Clasko. If any run away, reload until they all return (having more chocs = less runaways). Repeat this for Level 2 thru Level 5 Chocs. Finally, have 4 Level 5 Choc Runners, leave and return and they will find it.

Any random battles. You can only find Level 4 Chocs in Ch.3 ( or Ch.5 ), in Ch.5 you can find Level 5. More Chocs in the Ranch means less chance the Runners will run away.
Chocs are just random but I like to hang around the save sphere where you enter Kilika Woods or Thunder Plains using a Lure Bracer. The dungeon does give percentage points.

I had read in the guide that I've been following, that it's impossible to get 100%, as well as the Key to Success GG from the Chocobo Lair. Erm.. Is this true? I'm lacking just under 3% (I think it was the PR/Marriage Campaigns. Forgot about them in play) - And uh.. Would it be too late to find all of the chocobos I need, in Ch. 5? I'm here at Via Infinito, on the first level. Lvling dress spheres... LoL.
It's only impossible to get 100% in 1 game if you side with New yevon. Key to Success is an acc you get in Guadosalam if you did at least 1 Tobli mission (Ch1 or Ch2 Moonflow or Ch2 Macalania) & did NOT fight Garik. If you helped Clasko open the Ranch, you can find all the chocs you need. If it's not open and he's not there, it's too late. Marriage Mission doesn't count for anything but PR counts for % and Mascot. You can finish PR by playing minigames for your Agency but it takes a long time.
Ouch, I see. I fought Garik, so I guess I'm screwed out of Key to Success. All my spheres are maxed, (save for the ones I need to find the extra items for) so I don't quite need it... But it's a bummer to know I can't get it. But darn... The whole reason I started over was to get the Mascot DS. I guess it's off to play the mini games. Thanks! I should also email the person whos guide I'm following, which appears to be wrong, with this news.

Had to play games, but losing at sky reels was easy to make it go by quickly. And with the number of jackpots I hit, with no effort while using my turbo controller, it was enough to let me keep playing, without having to buy credits. Quite lovely. Back to Via Infinito I suppose.
First playthrough he's pretty hard as you don't have the mascot costumes.

This way of fighting Trema was how I defeated him. His attacks went down from 3000 per hit to 100 per hit! Trema turns really easy using this tactic.

To be honest, my best method was them in their original Dress Spheres. Rikku-theif, Paine-knight, Yuna-Gunner w/Catnip
And Id keep Paine using Sentinel and Rikku using items, and Yuna was low health.

(Note: Getting 777 is an Automatic Bribe VS Fiends but it wont work on fiends like who are immune to bribes)

not neccessarily, because not a long time after the battle against paragon begins, he'll do an attack (can't remember it's name sorry) that does an instant game-over(well my paine had 255 defense at the time and still die one-shot) so you have to beat him beforehand but trema with 255 defense is sooo easy(he hits like 200 each time so with 9999 hp you could stand a while

the 3 outfit where you have to infiltrate Guadosalam and stole back the sphere right? One is near Djose Temple just walk out and keep going left. One is in the desert in the Oasis. The last one is in Mt. Gagazet hot spring. Just keep climbing to the top.

it's a secret dungeon in bevelle, just go to the right and the kinderguardians will find it. you have to do this if you want to get 100% in one run.

After finishing the towers under Bevelle you come to a passage with 3 lifts at the end. Take the left lift up, then walk down (toward you) until you fall off the back edge. Take the center lift up, climb on the block and go back down. Take the right lift up, go straight across and take the left lift down. Repeat the center lift again. Take the left lift up, grab the chest, climb on the two blocks, take the new lift up. Get D.K., save and EQUIP GUN MAGES NOW (Hint).

IMO, This is overally compliacted. I just put on crystal bangles on all, then adamantite on an alchemist, and defense bracers on 2 Dark knights, use a soul spring to get rid of all his MP, then use darkness and alot of megalixers that you get from using congrats on the land worm. Works a treat.

thats pretty much what i do and it works like a charm. The thing I love about this game is that there r more ways than one and more strategies involved when taking a fiend/boss down. Since each dressphsre is different in abilities n stats it makes each battle strategically different from others.

Still remember doing Trema with this tactic a couple of years ago. Possibly the most epic boss fight out of all the Final Fantasy games, it feels really satisfying once you finally beat him. Thanks again for the vid!

nah there all easy just mix dark matter and holy water to get invincible, and that buys you about 3-4 turns of getting hit by nothing at all. and then just congrats everything except for trrema congrats dont work on him

i beat paragon finally
took me about 3-5 tries to successfully bribe him with 3 living party members without having him actually oversouled
at trema, i did the spherechange thing with valiant lustre gg but into mascots instead because they have better stats all-around in my opinion and they all had auto protect
yuna knew arcana from her mascot sphere so i just needed to give her cat nip and used twin stars on her (or w/e gives spellspring)

another good way to kill him is cat nip on alchemist, have 80% faster item use and blessed gem
you will do holy damages instently doing about 6 hits of all 9999s

Go to Bevelle, turn right when you enter the Temple and you will find a 100 Floor dungeon to complete. It starts with easy fiends and gets harder.

No, but it may take several tries. You should have the first up (other than LL) use Mega-Phoenix and the next use Megalixir. Unfortunately, LL is probably most likely to die before she uses the bribe. Aside from its hit-all attacks being quite nasty, it seems to go after LL if it uses a single attack. Some recommend using First Strike but it's better to equip for defense since you can't change before facing Trema. If you intend to use Cat Nip, you can do that and change LL to Gunner for Trema.

the first time I defeated trema I was using 2 darknights and one gunner equipped with the cat nip accessory! It was hard! It took me one hour and half or something like that. The second time was easy as pie! Used two mascots (the best dressphere for me)and a gunner again to use trigger happy with cat nip ;) It took me only half an hour xD With accessories as adamantite equipped and those beautifull stats of mascot is actually very easy to win!

i'm having trounle killing trema i went by the method of 2 character as gunner. 1 character as berserker. all 3 have speed bracer. 2 gunners have catnip and the berserker character have crystal bangle which increase hp by 100'/. so bersker have 9999 hp while the other 2 have to stay at crtical hp at 600. i always end up getting killed by trema when he uses meteor and wipes all 3 character. his regular attack hits hard too. so how do i get my defence high and still hit 9999? ur equips are?

Worst possible combination. 1-Berserker can't take a hit, 2-Two CN's die immediately at Meteor, leaving your 3rd to die, 3-Increasing HP only makes you heal more. Use a DS with good Def & MDef on Valiant Lustre GG (change DS thru all nodes to start any battle, you keep Def+ even if you die), equip Defense Bracer and best Def+. Only way to win w/ 2 CN's is to kill him before Meteor (25+ hits per Trigger Happy without dying after 2). With 1 CN, the other 2 can easily survive if you keep HP up.

You can use Stamina Tonic to increase HP but if you already have 6K-7K it causes Meteor to hit harder than necessary. Though it does help to survive regular hits and IS recommended after the 2nd Meteor to prepare for Ultima (if Trema still has MP). Just be sure to have full HP when he uses Meteor. Note: You can use 2 CN's if you be sure not to do more than 50 hits, then fully heal 1 before Meteor.

Kilika EpCom has only to do with the comms in Ch4. There are 2 comms, one is broken. For the first 2 scenes on the other one, you must zoom in on Donna for her to speak and wait until she is finished. For the next 2, just wait until they are finished and that comm will be broken also.

1 - It says International just under the title.
2 - It was only released in Japan. You would have to import it and have a Japanese PS2 or purchase something to force your PS2 to play it. So, I'm sure you would know if you have it.

The part in which you must send out three chocobos of each level out into spira without them running away. It will reveal the chocobo dungeon but i need help getting there.

1 - Send out 3 level 1 Chocs.
2 - Go fight 7-8 battles (do a mission or find level 2 Chocs).
3 - Go to the ranch and SAVE before talking to Clasko.
4 - Talk to Clasko, if any run away, reload.
5 - Repeat steps 1-4 for Level 2, 3, 4 & 5.
6 - Get 4 Level 5 Runners, leave the ranch & return, dungeon opens automatically.
You can wait til Ch5 to start but be sure to catch at least 1 before the end of Ch3.

You find the Amazing Chocobo at the end of the Chocobo dungeon after completing it. It will be in the center stall on the top floor of the Chocobo Ranch after you find it but it doesn't seem to be any good for anything.

Send 3 or 4, fight 7 random battles (if you send Amazing Choc, you must fight more) and save before talking to Clasko. If one doesn't return with Mounted Assault or Strength of One GG, reload and talk to him again.

While watching this video, I noticed that sometimes Trema prepares to do a spell, but never actually gets around to casting it. For example, at around 8:12 he's about to cast Ultima, but doesn't actually do it. Do you know why this is?

For NA version, Soul Spring removes his MP but he still does Meteor ( a physical attack ). For International version, he gets Spellspring ( 0 MP cost ).

First, you must have talked to Clasko in Ch.1 or Ch.2. If you did, go to the old monster cave in Calm Lands and help him open the Choc Ranch. Then send out 3 Level 1 Chocs, fight 7 battles, save game, talk to Clasko. If any run away, reload until they all return (having more chocs = less runaways). Repeat this for Level 2 thru Level 5 Chocs. Finally, have 4 Level 5 Choc Runners, leave and return and they will find it.

Any random battles. You can only find Level 4 Chocs in Ch.3 ( or Ch.5 ), in Ch.5 you can find Level 5. More Chocs in the Ranch means less chance the Runners will run away.

Chocs are just random but I like to hang around the save sphere where you enter Kilika Woods or Thunder Plains using a Lure Bracer. The dungeon does give percentage points.

I had read in the guide that I've been following, that it's impossible to get 100%, as well as the Key to Success GG from the Chocobo Lair. Erm.. Is this true? I'm lacking just under 3% (I think it was the PR/Marriage Campaigns. Forgot about them in play) - And uh.. Would it be too late to find all of the chocobos I need, in Ch. 5? I'm here at Via Infinito, on the first level. Lvling dress spheres... LoL.

It's only impossible to get 100% in 1 game if you side with New yevon. Key to Success is an acc you get in Guadosalam if you did at least 1 Tobli mission (Ch1 or Ch2 Moonflow or Ch2 Macalania) & did NOT fight Garik. If you helped Clasko open the Ranch, you can find all the chocs you need. If it's not open and he's not there, it's too late. Marriage Mission doesn't count for anything but PR counts for % and Mascot. You can finish PR by playing minigames for your Agency but it takes a long time.

Ouch, I see. I fought Garik, so I guess I'm screwed out of Key to Success. All my spheres are maxed, (save for the ones I need to find the extra items for) so I don't quite need it... But it's a bummer to know I can't get it. But darn... The whole reason I started over was to get the Mascot DS. I guess it's off to play the mini games. Thanks! I should also email the person whos guide I'm following, which appears to be wrong, with this news.

Hahaha. Thanks again. ^_^ I've happily got the mission complete from the calm lands, due to your help. Greatly, greatly appreciated. Had to play games, but losing at sky reels was easy to make it go by quickly. And with the number of jackpots I hit, with no effort while using my turbo controller, it was enough to let me keep playing, without having to buy credits. Quite lovely. Back to Via Infinito I suppose.
