The only proper place for a pirate - even a beautiful young pirate - is "dangling at the end of a rope", just as the blond lady said. But the guy was also right - the hanging should have been delayed. It was a shame that such a special event took place with few spectators, just because the blond lady was worried something might happen. She deprived the people in the nearby villages of a rare and delightful treat, as well as a valuable lesson in the heavy price to be paid for defying the law!

Gianna Maria Canale is one of the really beautiful italian actresses, and possessed a look of rare intensity, and find particularly good in this role, that she repeated in La tigre dei sette mari (Tigress of the Seven Seas). Not only she doesn't die, but will be she herself to do justice with her sword.

Yes your right, but this scene and the one from Cat Ballou show just how much the attitude toward women haschanged in the last generation. It was then total taboo to depict a women (actually) being hanged in a movie. Now, that and many forms of violence against women are common place on screen.

I always did happen prior to the 1980's when there was a strict motion picture code. But, with a tragic trend  of accepting violence toward women in 21st century society, graphic hanging of women in film does not seem to be "frowned on"
