I'm unsure how much money they could make through military cuts without job losses, by cutting the equipment, because the other cuts would need to be re-invested to keep those folk employed.
The military employs a lot of people. Cutting that would at first cut equipment but beyond a point it would cut their jobs. People only join it because that's where state money is invested - if they moved it to infrastructure it'd move the jobs.
Taxing the profit on churches is still good I know a lot of people got rich through being preachers. I don't think the priest should make any money from it at all to be honest, I'm not a fan of sport stars or singers getting paid either to be honest.
You've got me wondering WHY i'm for taxing churches. I'm only for taxing profit big churches make. I'd like to regulate religion to (like with drugs) limit the harm, not the use.
You're right that tax isn't what makes Norway good - it's the welfare state. You have free university, this fills me with envy =@
Oh you, contradicting yourself by making me change my mind on an issue with your youtube channel, while saying you can't do that ;)
Until 1900 almost all tax went to the millitary or the king. There used to be HUGE taxes - wasn't a good thing though in classic states like monarchy.
I never thought how churches are funded, i didn't think people paid to support it. Now your making me consider nationalizing it - if people are going to use it don't make them pay for it. 180 degree flip!
My question is when the Chruches get taxed, and start shutting down all hell will break lose. Chruches will be taxed soon, the U.S.A is in serious debt man.
@enterthearenaus Personally, I feel like if they ABSOLOTELY HAVE to tax churches they should have a profit tax. An income tax on churches would simply result in churches having to take more from their members, which would result in people having less money.
I am not 100% sure how the churches operate. But basically it's free and there is not membership. But towards the end they pass around baskets to put money in as donations, some churches require 10% of your income. I would guess that goes towards paying for the church and staff. The churches are big on charity and use a lot of that money to help the poor. So if you tax them and take that way it will just be spend on military and shit like that. I agree we need to cut down on military a lot.
@skeptictom818 So taxing the churches would basically be a double tax on the people. Since it would be peoples donations that are taxed along with their income tax. Also I was just wondering how does your country pay for social security. In America we have a payroll tax that comes out of our income. Also our social security is for retirement and I guess in Norway it covers everything? Maybe you can make a video about it.
Norway is quite different on many aspects, mainly because our tax is so high that it needs to be flexible on many areas. For example when you start a new bussiness.
Social security cant really be transelated to any Norwegian word that actually equals a tax we pay. But yes, it kinda does cover everything. It covers things it shouldnt cover though. For example if I CHOOSE not to work (but I CAN WORK). I am payd. But I shouldnt be.
@gulbirk Yeah if taxes are to high or if the place isn't business friendly people won't take the risk to start a business. Also I like that idea of taxing profits instead of income. That way at least then business can cover all their costs and then whatever is left over can be taxed. Also I was wondering were you stand on social issues because I feel we will agree a lot more there then on economic issues. I might just make a video on that. You should check it out when I am done with it.
I think we agree on lots of stuff. I can see though how someone wants to decrease the government considering the kind og government you have had in USA.
@gulbirk Well I can assume your against the death penalty and guns like most Europeans. You already made a video saying you support legalizing drugs. Do you guy have gay marriage in Norway? I also feel their shouldn't be any censorship on t.v,radio, and newspapers. Military should be completely voluntary during times of war, no draft or draft registry.
@skeptictom818 Well, I think military should be compleatly voluntary at all times. But again, I dont think they should except anyone (like un-stabil people).
Yeah, cecsorship is part of democratis fascism (just a term I use to illustrate how free speach is limited, and by that definition, not very free).
Yeah, we have gay marriage now. Since we have a state church all churches needs to accept it, BUT, priests can denide marrying a gay couple.

@skeptictom818 Yeah. And CIA. And nuclear wepon production too actually.
Yeah I agree, no point in taxing the churches if they dont have SUPER-profitt which makes the priests rich.
Though I hardly doubt the collection plate is the only way to get money. If that was the case, one could not life of being a priest.
