  • i wish i could write songs like this.

  • Great song!

  • Is the jet sound at the very beginning from Back in the U.S.S.R.?

  • Pure genius. This, and many more Beatles songs will be listened to, and revered, like Mozart and Beethoven are today.

  • Music!!! at it's best!!!

  • I wish that comments would be more about the song... Like ... what do you think about the lyrics and how do you understand them....

  • 3:04 - 3:14

    What instrument is that sound?

  • @jjrge96 electric guitar, piano,drums,vocals

  • 64 people are criminally insane - did your CD store slip you another CD to play a trick on you? This is The White Album, dudes, it's immune from unlikes - now the men in white coats are coming to get you.

  • @11maaar

    ciao sono un italiano

....se non ci fossero 65 idioti ,che mondo sarebbe?

  • i laughed real hard when freddy appeard and then comes john with that gesture XD

  • Beatles changed more than any other, band, or anything.... so quickly

  • I always thought Dear Prudence was about telling those who are prudent and uptight to loosen up and simply enjoy life. But it's actually about a real person named Prudence Farrow.

  • ...Oh hey Freddy Kruenger.

And I'm reading the comments and whoever said Freddy Kruenger is better than Freddie Mercury, I laughed. Because you know, I rather be clawed to death while sleeping instead of listen to Queen too, wait.. (I love Freddy Kruenger and Freddie Mercury though :))

  • What the fuck's with freddy kruger? :D

  • Mi Querida Prudencia!!!

  • my aunt named her baby Prudence and we wrote on the white bored, " Dear Prudence, open up ypur eyes."<3

  • 60 negativ. Probably Justin Bieber fans who loves his muzak.

  • 2:23 ...wtf?

  • That Freddy Kruger slide was NOT RIGHT and totally inappropriate.

Apart from that, the Slide show was crap.

  • @Aerozymphatique Just the album picture would be fine and and less time-consuming than a slide show, too. Less is more sometimes.

  • @deathmelon6789

That's why they have "Alt+Tab" on computers.

  • @prubearisawesome were you named after this song???

  • There is no other better reason for writing a song than to cheer up a friend.

  • This is one of the greatest, and most important songs ever recorded. I learned this song through Garcia/Kahn, who paid such a fitting tribute, and have come to love it more and more and more the older I get. I'm 33. The torches were passed Mom and Dad. Thanks. We got it. The message wasn't lost. TV and Radio just lie today. It's still there.

  • @wiisalute >That feel when have no gf

  • When the bass guitar kicks in at 1:10 or so it just goes into a trip.

  • you broke a little more than a thousand views!

  • anyone notice that if you add a c to rap it says crap but you cant do anything to the beatles

  • @thebeatles1227 i would not say all rap is bad. what you see on tv and hear on the radio? terrible.

  • 2:23 ?

  • i love how in the description the guy is worked up over only 1000 views

  • I've written hundreds of songs and my main influence is The Beatles. Nobody seems to like my songs I don't think I can go on any longer spending so much time on something I love and nobody likes my music. I'M PRETTY SURE THE BEATLES WENT TO EVERY RECORD LABEL AND THEY ALL DENIED THE BEATLES AT FIRST. THE BIGGEST LABEL SAID GUITARS WOULD BE OUT OF STYLE SOON. I ONLY HAVE A DRUMMER AND I JUST DON'T THINK OTHER PEOPLE MY AGE AROUND 21 WANT TO MAKE ROCK BANDS ANYMORE :-(. ONLY METAL & RAP :-(

  • @BloodShotNow Don't give up dude, I'm also heavily influenced by the Beatles- trust me, all the mediocrity over the past few years has not gone un-noticed, another big band is going to come along soon and kick the music industry in the balls

  • @BloodShotNow Post some of your songs on Youtube. I'd listin to them.

  • @BloodShotNow well the beatles invented metal with helter skelter

  • you absolutily broke 1000 views mister ...

  • 2.27 FWENDS!

  • These guys ripped off Siouxsie and the Banshees.

  • Why

  • That bass... <3

  • It's funny after reading the part about Paul playing the drums in this song whe I listened to it again I could tell it wasn't Ringo. It sounded like Paul was trying really hard. LOL

  • buddy you broke way more than 1000 views :)

  • love that bassline, mixes in well with the drums and the guitar!

  • This is my son's favorite song in the world.

  • Why is Freddy Crounger in this?

  • Born in 58, 30 miles away from the Lads, but I live in a better city, Manchester. some great bands came out of the North west and still do.

  • The other day in class, my teacher used the word "prudence" and I quietly sang, "Dear prudence, won't you come out and play" without even thinking about it. He just said, "Yes, just like the Beatles' song" and patted me on the back.

BTW, my teacher looks like Paul McCartney.

  • @KatieKinsBear I bet your teacher is HAWT ;D

  • @XZeldaTheZealotX

He's more adorable than hot, really, but I see where you're going with that.

PS- Played the new Zelda game yet? It's awesome.

  • @KatieKinsBear No I have not. How did you I lurves Zelda? :O Hahaa

  • @XZeldaTheZealotX

It has absolutely nothing to do with your name. It's pretty awesome, you should play it.

  • @KatieKinsBear Haha oh, I never thought about that.Ok I will :)

  • @KatieKinsBear your teacher must be really attractive then :)

  • @KatieKinsBear Your teacher sounds like a major homo.

  • @spiderhulk63 wtf?

  • @spiderhulk63

My teacher could get more pussy than you ever could.

  • @KatieKinsBear bet you looked like a fucking knob

  • @jonasbum

Well, that one I won't deny.

  • @KatieKinsBear he jacked it on the back of your head and then patted it down.

  • @KatieKinsBear hot teacher. :)

  • the line "The sun is up, the sky is blue

It's beautiful and so are you" my sister thought was dr. seuss

  • i like how it says in the description 'yes i broke 1000 vies' and now its on 1.4 million, haha

  • This is the SHIT!

  • Arguably, this might be my favorite song of all time.

  • @robandsuemorrison I agree

  • When I First Listened To This Song A 3:05 I Thought My Phone Was Ringing. Seriously, I Do It Every Time! :P

  • my favorite part is when the drums and fuckin awesome bassline kick in!! \('.\')

  • i hate the beatles.....JK

  • @xxxmaddison whoa whoa u almost got me there hahaha!

  • I love the casual picture of Freddy Krueger

  • beatles will always be the greatest band who ever lived

  • @Jaemelcharlie yes!!!! hey a question love, so u think it'd be treachery to beatles if i drew justin beiber for money??? i dnt like him but my clients probally r. oh and i played this song on guitar and sang it and i sounded EXCACTLY like john. i knew cos me mum thought i was listening to this song and i told her i wasnt. she was like way impressed!!!! btw i have a bit of a cold so maybe that's y mi voice sounded like him

  • I liked The Beatles before Charlie, but his mixtape is so perfect that I feel I need to credit this listen to him. Thanks Charlie. I love you.

  • um.. to stanssoapbox and azzurri95, I think we all know that Ringo and Paul are both great musicians but it doesn't matter they are Beatles and The Beatles are the best band..EVER.. and this song Dear Prudence in particular.. is a complete eargasm.. :)

  • @SammyG5551 Agreed, especially with the eargasm part.

  • @blakesquakers haha thanks

  • Also Donovan taught John the claw picking for this song.

  • Freddyz creepin at 2:23

  • wussup witt tha freddy kruger??

  • Interesting info that was mostly new to me. I was aware that Ringo wasn't so into it and left early but I didn't know that Paul replaced him on drums. It's funny because I always liked the drumming in this song.

I think John was only half joking when he was asked if Ringo was the best drummer in the world and he replied:

" Ringo isn't event the best drummer in the Beatles".

  • @stanssoapbox I think Lennon was fully joking. He was the one who got Ringo to come back, partly by assuring him what a great drummer he was, writing him a card that said "you're the best rock drummer." In many interviews John praised Ringo for being such a solid, dependable drummer. George Martin said that if a take broke down in the studio, he couldn't remember a time it was Ringo's fault, they could even edit different takes together seamlessy because his time was so good.

  • @panchobehrmann Don't get me wrong I wasn't criticising Ringo's drumming just praising Paul's multi talent.

  • my favorite bass line from paul

  • Whats with Freddy?

  • You guys who think Paul drummed this need to have your ears checked. Ringo has such a distinctive sound, and this along with A Day In The Life, Rain, and Oh! Darling are performances that anyone with a discerning ear KNOWS can only be Ringo regardless of what a book, a website or even the Beatles themselves say

  • @panchobehrmann yes paul did play drums on this track, go look it up....

  • @azzurri95 I refer you to my earlier comment. The source of this myth is Mark Lewisohn's book and it has been repeated in many places. There were many, many overdubs done in the White Album sessions, sometimes after a song had sat for weeks and not all are documented. So Dear Prudence was recorded while Ringo was away? He came back and overdubbed the drums then. Nowhere is it more apparent than the climactic final refrain, confidently played, quintessential Ringo fills.

  • @panchobehrmann Paul has a talent that allows him to play almost any musical instrument simply by ear and sound like he has been playing it all his life. Not just going from bass guitar to piano to drums but also as an old man in the 'Back In The World' tour he was dueling on lead rock guitar along with 2 profesional rock lead guitatists half his age and easily equaling them. Considering Paul plays by ear then I think playing drums Ringo style by ear would be a very simple task for him.

  • @stanssoapbox You need to be realistic about Paul's talent. Some tracks that he drummed on, for which documentation and the sound of the finished product agree, are Back In The USSR, Why Don't We Do It In The Road, The Ballad Of John and Yoko. Hardly stellar performances, simple but they still nearly fall apart in places. They SOUND like a guy who plays guitar and piano and just now picked up the drums, not like Ringo who played gigs for years before and after joining The Beatles.

  • The backing vocals have several people that are related to and friends of or work for the Beatles. For example John McCartney Paul's cousin.

  • Oh, Stinking Come On! Lennon's Copy Was Only Sold For 19,500! It Shoud Have Been Sold For 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 Ok, I Don't Even Know What Number That Is, But A Song So Great, It Should Have Atleast Been Sold For Atleast That Much!
