WOW!.. Just a few hours ago I was trying to decide which sculpting application to *really* dive into. My options were Zbrush, 3d Coat, Mudbox and I even considered Sculptris... My issue with Zbrush has ALWAYS been the interface. Ever since the very first version I've had trouble wrapping myself around the concept of both 2.5 D and the totally different interface.

But these new features in version 4 man... WOW.. I'll just HAVE TO do whatever it takes to overcome my fear of the GUI...

@dangraphic You are correct to a degree but what about people who know nothing on how to work this application and will not make any money off of their own work for a long time, never mind having a portfolio to show to a potential employer. Obviously ZBrush, if not Mudbox are an industrial standard and getting a job in this field is highly competitive already. I don't think it is fair to someone who really can't afford this product should not be able to learn how to use it.

Lots, tons. In some game design schools they use this. I am certain that Bioshock was made using it. And I'm pretty sure ArenaNet, is using this for Guild Wars 2. Check out Futurepoly (dot) com (replace the brackets and dot wit ha period), it's some program that is made by, and taught by game designers, and they even have a Zbrush course.

It will, however, do these things in a completely new and much simpler way, while providing better results than the competition. Providing of course that it never becomes a public company. 3.5 is out, its been updated already, it has lightbox and it's bloody amazing. Jaw droppingly, Mind bendingly amazing. Honestly they could have stuck with v3 for 2 more years and it would still be the best sculpting tool there is, but 3.5, from the moment it fires up, is another huge leap. I gotta find a way to use it for my living, coz I spend waaaay too much time on it! Software was not meant to be addictive - apart from games - but this muther should carry a warning label!
