Why is the fire belly toad named the fire belly TOAD? It has webbed feet! Its a FROG! It should be called fire belly FROG! Toads can't swim!

@911buffalobill I used to think the same thing but before i got my fire belly toads i did some research and found out they are a mix the toad part comes in for how they like land the frog part comes in for how they spend most of their time in the water.

@cherry87431 well, male(boy) toads are smaller than female(girl) toads, girls are much bigger when they full grow up than boys when fully grown

my Toads get it on alot and there tank is pretty much all water but a log tree and a rock so where willl the eggs be and should i leave them in the tank? or take them out?

eggs will be scattered all over in the water. If you want to raise them you will need a sperate tank because the adults will eat the babies. We used a turkey baster to transfer the eggs.

Mostly by behavior. When they are in season, the males try to mount other frogs. Only the females will tolerate being mounted.

Normal in tank filters. The eggs stick to plants and gravel, so we never had a problem with them getting into the filter. We used a turkey baster to move the newly layed eggs into a different tank, otherwise the newly hatched tadpoles were getting eaten by the guppies and adult toads.

thx for telling me. i have a waterfall filter but i dont know if it sucks up eggs beacuse it only has a pump and some carbonfilter bags. the turkey baster was a good idea! =P
