@kinollos the lens isn't worth three thousand dollars. its about an 800 dollar lens. and you can only get the miniature effect in post. but tilt shifts are actually made to correct the distortion you get when photographing tall buildings. they appear like this / \. the tilt shift corrects them to this | |. they also allow many more things to stay in focus when the planes don't match up with your sensor.
In most cases you can simulate this effect in AE without having to spend $3k on that lens, cant you?
