shepard i followed your tecnic with using a lot of bombs,i did online with my friends and we all brought things to make 20 Large barrel bombs+,we managed to break the uragaan jaw within 7min.,it was cool but other say its an excessive usage of bombs,is it a good strategy.

@axelalmer1 Just because you disagree with his tactics doesn't mean you should denounce it. Since it's a tutorial, he tries to how the most efficient and easiest way Togo about doing something. If that involves bombs, so be it. If you don't like it, don't use them. Simple as that. Also, writing mechanics. Makes Everyones life easier when you take the time to spell out stuff correctly.

@markip2 i dislike it when people bomb too much as a lot do it online and it gets really annoying and i simply said what i did as he had false info in his video while bouncing is bad on a monster like agnaktor you may have to bounce to break all claws as it will not always be easy to keep its lava hot i apologise for the way in which i stated my problem with his video and also my spelling is fine i make typos sometimes my keyboard has sticky keys as well

@axelalmer1 The issue about bouncing doing less damage is pretty debatable. The general mindset of the monster hunter community is that at green sharpness or above, bouncing does full damage, but doubles the amount of sharpness taken away, so I guess you're right on that point, but I think Mr. Shepard's point was that bouncing isn't a good thing when fighting a monster. Also, bombing a monster can make it easier to fight, and an advantage early on when you're learning how to play is great. Just

@SocialDissonance well i shouldnt have said it the way i did but if you are going to make a vi like this which is somewhat of a tutorial you sohuldnt have flase info such as bouncing deals less damage as all it does is lowers sharpness faster and bomb spamming is not a very good tactic for newer players

But if any one plays online, the uraguan is glitched. I wuz playin wit a friend on low rank and he had high rank armour. He used a max pot, den 2 mins later uraguan did tail swing and insta killed him even though he had full hp. Samething happened to me when I wuz using da tusk lance+ it took out all my hp while I blocked it . The move it did was the super chin slam. So becarefull with uraguan online

@Incoleboss Rathalos armor is a great set. I use it along with an Expert +5 charm with a socket, and enough decorations to give me Critical Eye +3. I'm also using an attack and a defense decoration to negate the negative defense and to retain Attack Up (M). With a Tusk Lance+ you're sitting at a ridiculous affinity of 70%. If you want to go all out on powerful attacks and you're good at evading/blocking, I'd recommend this set.

@SocialDissonance I'll be taking on the Uragaan for the 1st time tomorrow. I have an array of SnS's and its my fav wep so i'll be taking him with that. I have full Lagiacrus, Full Rathian and the Ingot/Rathian set, Full Barroth and full bahnabra. which would you recommend? Also if you don't mind which sns would you recommend to take on ceadus? im hoping to use an element sword on him because i plan to use lagiacrus set for swimming

Just a note on statuses. The value on the weapon does not influence the chance for a status to go off. Like elements that determines how must status "damage" is inflicted. In other words, how many purple puffs you will need to see before the monster is actually poisoned. The chance of the purple puffs triggering is based on the weapon class. Faster weapons have a lower chance, while slower weapons have a higher chance. In practice the bias still favors fast weapons, but status Hammer/GS is OK.

Also try doing barroth+ it has a 3% of a tail carve 3% off the scalp carve and 3% if you capture it in total that's a 9% chance of getting wyvern stones when you get to hr40 and above do barioth and the event quest red hot party (got 3 wyvern stones in 2 runs)

@Aceacers You get commodities from running the fishing farm anyway. Trade those in for fish finders when they're on sale, and it just propels itself.

hi social i havnt commented on your videos in a while if u remember me then great well i like useing gobul armour because of speed eating +2 which lets me drink pots fast and im starting to upgrade the pieces of gobul armor to high rank instead of getting gobul+ armor and im hr 37 and i need a wyvern stone do u know the best way to get a wyvern stone when at a lower hr than 40

@MrYahooguy I would do the R ludroth quest. all the monsters at your level that drop it have the same chance of giving it as a capture reward, but with R. ludroth the tail has a small chance of giving it. hope this helps.

For those interested in using the SnS against Uragaan, but do not want to rely on poison to do their damage:

The Royal Claw+ is not the best elemental weapon to use against him at this point in the game. It is possible to obtain the Eternal Strife by this point, and it just so happens that Uragaan's secondary weakness is Dragon!

@fpspapasito uh actually if u get attack up with felyne then yes u can stack it with a demondrug and u can increase it more if u stack a mega demondrug a demondrug a might seed and a might pill that will increase it greatly

@fpspapasito There are several different attack boost categories that you can look up in the damage formula.

Kitchen boosts (felyne) are considered to be in the same category as the demon drugs. So attack up small=demondrug, and attack up large=mega demondrug.

There's also charms, where both the power charm and power talon stack together.

Might seeds and might pills are another category, and do not stack, although you can extend the pill by following my trick in the Diablos gauntlet.

@fpspapasito Finally there's the adrenaline upgrades. You can get 1.3x boost with adrenaline +2 when you're below 30% life. There's also the kitchen skill felyne heroics which is a 1.5x boost when you're below 50% life. They do not stock.

Meh. Since the SnS barely does damage on the draw, and you're kind of supposed to combo, Critical Draw is counterintuitive... Attack Up skills, even without the Tremor Res, would probably do more damage, faster.

@ShatteredMemories66: lagiacrus armor might not be optimal though, since his firesmoke will hurt you bad. Also, the ludroth nail isn't that great, but it's certainly an option. My advise would be rathian or rathalos armor for the nice fire resistance, los even making cold drinks redundant, and maybe not the ludroth nail, but either the gigginox or great baggi sns with bombs. Those are essential with sns. Great baggi even allows you to sleepbomb him!

To confirm, Gaan's bombs will do damage to him. They will also do damage to other monsters which is handy if you're doing the Brute Horns arena or Blood Sport. Diablos will charge right through a line of them if you position yourself right.
