  • Linda, Andrew, Kenny, Doug, Russ and Waddy. What a group! She still my all time favorite singer.

  • Wow! another great performance!... and could her jeans get any tighter? MERCY!

  • Who is the redhead on the keyboard?

  • Love this song, love Linda Ronstadt. She was part of the soundtrack of my growing up. A true class act! I will say, however, on this song that it's Warren Zevon's version that completely shatters me. Just heartbreaking...

  • Look at :48 to :58. The late great Andrew Gold and the late great Kenny Edwards up there with the great Ronstadt. Who can compare?

  • Always a great band too - JD Sother, Waddy Watchel , Russ Kunkle , Glenn Frey , Don Henley ,Randy Meisner , and Andrew Gold have all been in Ronstadts band !

  • @longy54 And the late great Warren Zevon who wrote this song.

  • NOBODY sang like Ronstadt - not then - not now. Beautiful sexy woman too !

  • Linda Ronstadt turned me on to strong female singers back in 1975 and it has lasted my lifetime. After Linda, there was Blondie, Sheryl Crow, Alanis Morisette, Gwen Stefani, etc... You always get a strong message in the songs of strong female singers.

  • @1964beatlesfan Don't forget Pat Benatar, who followed in her footsteps and benefited from Linda paving the way...

  • thanx for sending me that, wasn,t she lovely and such a great voice, and indeed it was jd souther on prisoner in disguise, probably my fav of the two songs. sorry i didn,,t reply earlier but i had a problem with my computer. anyway that was a lovely era.

  • Damn. Gotta love a peasant blouse!!!

  • didn,t don henley sing on the original recording.

  • @jonnyb69able It was J.D. Souther. I could just about hear it in my head, but I had to look it up to be sure. I miss all the old album covers I used to have. They had all the information. J.D. also does 'Prisoner in Disguise' with her, among others. I think I'll try to find that one now........

  • She had such an excellent, clean "live" voice. Most rockers, even those whose voice is the only instrument they have and so should take excellent care of it, rarely sound as good in person as they do in the studio. But LR was lovely.

I know LR lost much as she aged (like who doesn't...okay Jagger lost little voice and almost no body & moves, but he obviously sold his soul to the devil, so he doesn't count). At times the >50 LR sounded rough indeed.

But young, "live" LR was angelic, lovely.

  • Correction to the below the set should be---

    1. Lose Again2. That’ll Be The Day3. Love Has No Pride

    4. Silver Threads and Golden Needles5. Willin’6. It Doesn’t Matter Any More

    7. When Will I Be Loved8. Crazy9.The Tattler10. Lo Siento Mi Vida

    11. Hasten Down The Wind12. Tracks Of My Tears.

  • I was 21 in 1976 and saw this when they played at the New Victoria Theatre London. As far as I know there are no videos of the London gig. I would love one to turn up.Set List:1. That'll Be The Day 2. Love Has No Pride 3. Silver Threads & Golden Needles4. Willin'5. It Doesn't Matter Anymore6. When Will I BeLoved7.Crazy 8. Lo Siento Mi Vida 9. Love Is A Rose 10. Hasten Down The Wind Band Intro 12. You're No Good 13. Heatwave 14. Heart Like A Wheel 15. Desperado 16. Someone To Lay Down Beside Me.

  • Warren wrote the songs...Linda sang them....beautiful! This is an underrated song...too beautiful to be unknown to many.

  • Linda sang many Warren Zevon songs, the most popular being "Poor Poor Pitiful Me". RIP Warren.

  • My dad was in love with this lady, I can now see why, beautiful vocals....the new country girls like Taylor Swift can learn alot from Linda!!!

  • I came to this outstanding LR video from the Warren Zevon catalog.

When a spellbinding LR video as this is viewed as part of the Zevon catalog, you start to get this feeling just how deeply significant his influence was/is. Check out the four-part Letterman show, an entire show devoted to Zevon, just before this artist's untimely death in 2003. Riveting.

  • Thanks for the correction. However, there is a video (Tumbling Dice/You're no Good) and maybe another one where Linda is singing and Waddy Watchel is playing.

  • Is that Waddy Watchel standing off to the right and doing background vocals?

  • @RebelHerb007 I believe that's Kenny Edwards, her long time bassist, not Waddy (he wore glasses and played guitar for Warren Zevon)

  • @Sooner74112 , you're correct, but Waddy is playing guitar for Linda at this concert. Check out Heat Wave and you'll see him clearly on the guitar solo

  • @Sooner74112 Kenny Edwards was way underappreciated (for sure by me.) If you think you don't know him, you do - check out the many classic albums he sang and played on at the end of his Wikipedia entry. RIP Kenny.

  • It's a Warren Zevon song!

Even if this cover is very nice, i prefer the Zevon's version.

  • @manuetalain83 Mr. Dave's slide makes Warren's version rise above - wonder if he ever played this one live with her? :-)

  • linda lives a couple streets away from me. she's still very active here with community and stuff. i've always been captivated by her wonderful voice, and you wouldn't believe the size of her guitar collection!

  • Oh My if I was a friend...Lord knows she does a number. Linda, there is nobody better than you.

  • Comment removed

  • I want it to be 1976 again!!!! What a time!

  • @mtnmusix - oh to be 17 again in 1977 and know what I know now and appreciate it all like I didn't then.

  • @martha1spur

    Amen to that sister . . .

  • @mtnmusix That would be nice :-)

  • Marry me Linda
