ya im learning how to use solid edge, and i can tell u that inv fusion has many similarities with Solid edge ST2. but whatever im just a newbie at this im only 18 XD
The modification of imported model is in inventor since a long time ago, also Autocad come with Inventor and Autocad to is excelent for modifing quicly imported modeles and both work with ether surface or solid Autocad had mesh on top. Inventor fusion is just a way to modify base object without modifing the original and it does not had Parametric feature to the part so it stay super light.
You oubviously know nothing about Inventor. It floors Solid edge big time !
i dont know much about solid edge, after seeing this i will be looking it up. however, although your point is very true, and that is impressive, inventor is a very broad modelling package that is capable of doing a hell of a lot of things very well, and autodesk have been focusing on other area up until now. i believe their focus over the next 3-5 years will be merging acad & inventor into one piece of software. you can already see where they are going by looking at 2010 and fusion! I like it.
