  • This is pretty funny...when it started i was like oh god dumb young kids...then by the end i was like..entertaining..smart. and honest. good job guys

  • I am a old man I grew up watching star trek and I did not like star trek the next generation, ds9 was ok and I did not like voyager I did like enterprise but this was GENE RODDENBERRY dream an that the way he would have like it but this jj Adams really piss me off he turn the star trek world upside down an rape it , now I know there people who like it that fine but there a old saying IF IT NOT BROKEN DON’T FIX IT

  • trek follower but not fanatic..

i thought it was good, some small parts dint look that well done ,

    but overal it was good

just spock falling in love? bad move...it turned him in to regular crewmember,

instead of the misterious closed off guy he has always been known to been.

But again , besides that good movie

  • Midget! .. With the FACE!!! lols Xx

  • @loner1878 Star Trek(XI aka09) in 400 characters or less...Bad guy comes from the future seeking revenge on events that have not happened. Hoodlum Kirk gets on board the enterprise. Vulcans say: “We have no emotions...You Humans are STUPID! STUPID! STUPID!” Punk ass Kirk gets command by fighting with superior officers and forcing them to obey him. Kirk's ill conceived plan to defeat the bad guy miraculously works and everyone forgets his uncouth behavior and gives him command of their flag ship.

  • Fuck JJ Abrams and this new generation of brain dead pricks.

  • U guys R really silly. Your review was more of fun than a shredding of a movie.

  • This movie sucked no if's and's or but's. Bad acting, bad story, 2 dimensional villain, a criminal for a hero, unbelievable science and coincidences, and LENS-FLARES. It was different but then so is a poo sandwich.

  • @Trekfreek. Youre here too? I see U never liked that movie at all. Well we all have different taste buds dont we

  • @Trekfreek whats wrong with lenseflares??

  • @frank12364 Nothing if you like wearing sun glasses when watching a movie, and/or risk losing your eye sight from cornea damage. Most movies have lens flares on occasion but this one has them from the second it begins till the end of the credits; this could most defiantly damage your eye, not to mention you can’t see the actor’s faces or the action in the movie.

  • Same here bro, I never liked StarTrek the show or the movies until I gave this movie a chance and boy, this movie is the best StarTrek ever.

  • yeah i had never really seen the show and i went to see it and i thought it was great!

  • that's the problem of this movie, if it was just some guys fighting in space i'd be alright with it, it's a movie for guys like you, that have no idea about star trek, so why even name it star trek, becouse it's just a lot of cgi and cliches, same for the transformers movies, pick a random next generation episode and this movie just doesn't hold up

  • "that's the problem of this movie, if it was just some guys fighting in space i'd be alright with it, it's a movie for guys like you, that have no idea about star trek,"

That doesn't quite make sense. Why does it have to made specifically for the fans? That's the type of mentality that will cause a franchise to fail (see "Enterprise.")

  • Not specifically for the fans, but not go down the TNG Movie line, as in don't relate anything, give main characters completely unmatched personalities and pack the whole movie with mindless action and flashy special effects. My point was that it's a dumbed down flick that you watch having 2 hours to waste and forget the second you leave the cinema. THIS is the sort of thing that ruins a franchise.

  • hey crotch holding guy, welcome to the trekverse, you'd be amazed what they can do to make actors unrecognizeable! The makeup and prostetics is half the fun! (i'm a huge trekkie that has the "aliens and artifacts" book that talks about how they did/do the makeup and props)....

  • Star Trek never has been anything more then the relationship between Kirk, Spock and McCoy. If they're using the best CG or cardboard cutouts, it's always been those three that we were watching. If you're looking for something else, maybe you belong in a Galaxy, Far, Far Away..., as for me..., I'm ready to watch and see some old friends grow up once again, for the first time.

  • greatest movie i have ever seen, and i dont really like movies that much, so thats saying something.

for all those people who where bitching that it wasnt close to the show....its a movie..come on. they are the same people who try and see how star WARS relates to mythology on the history channel. oy!

  • Epic movie.

  • The premise made no sense whatsoever...

  • This Movie was awesome but really its ment for a younger audience. Wouldn't have thought an hardcore fan would like because its completely different to the original star trek this has more of a actionbased feel to it.

  • lol I loved he movie.

  • ^^ The desperate naysayer fail train keeps rolling.

  • @smbcomix

JJ Abrams set out to make non-fans Trekkies

    Mission Accomplished

    For me at least

  • hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahah IM FANTASTIC!

  • I saw it about 1 week after it came out and prob the 3rd best movie I have ever seen. Everything was great. Acting, special effects, all of that

  • Me being an ex-trekkie... (discovered women) I loved that movie but alot of the hardcore trekkies didn't like it. "Wha Wha alternate time line. Wha Wha" GET OVER IT!!! Here's 50 bucks go get a hooker. Closest thing to love they will EVER get!

  • lol soo true im more of a star wars fan and think people who like star trek are idiets but i still think the movie was amazing

  • lmao, random girl?

  • Hahaha, 1:30,

    The guy in the middle:HEY!!

    left: HEY!!!,

    right: HE-EY..

Ahaha lol, he sounds like Barny from the Simpsons.

  • whats a great movie!

  • This movie was fantastic, the emotional opening was terrific. I felt that this new movie really opened the doors to give the genre and franchise a whole new kickstart.

  • your so short! lmafo!

  • I thought Simon Pegg was pathetic as Scotty, he didnt Look, Talk or Act like Scotty in any way at all. Everyone goes on about Quinto being just like Spock, but I think Karl Urban was outstanding as McCoy, he spoke and sounded a lot like classic Bones, and even has his features a little bit, aside from build. And you can all give me some minus votes If you cant take a bit of criticism.

  • You don't deserve those minus votes...

I've never watched TOS, but somehow i find Simon Pegg too undramatic.

  • Yeah well, this is "YouTube," I expected them, just had to say what I thought. its funny but most comments that actually blatantly insult a thing, usually get spammed, those that have even a bit of a point, get this treatment. Funny cus, Im not even a Trekke, but do admire the original series. You right bout Pegg, totally undramatic.

  • Everyone is entitled to his or her opinion, but I for one appreciated that Scotty actually sounded like an actual Scotsman, rather than a Canadian trying to sound like one. Simon Pegg's accent was absolutely perfect, and I really enjoyed the way he made the part his own.

  • @bekkers29

Pegg was one of the best things about the movie. Pretty much the reason I wanted to see it in the first place (as a Trek fan, most of the previews scared me). Not nearly enough Scottie in the movie.

    ~

  • I think one of my friends said it best: Karl Urban owned the movie until Simon Pegg stole it out from under him. =)

And I'm a Trekkie (that's Trekkie, not Trekker, thank you) too, but the previews actually had me just giddy, since I've thought ST needed to be rebooted for at least the past 10 years or so.

  • You yourself said it, everyones entitled to they're own opinion.

  • I love how you stopped mid-review and said hello to a few friends :D. Funny review. I loved the movie too. I was never really a 'trekkie' before this movie either. I had seen a few of them but after the new movie I was soooo into it lol. Epic is the perfect word for it. XD

  • I'm not complaning on the sex or the action it self. just that in this movie it is pointles. It has no barring on the so cald plot. Just like all those months of casting and stunt planning and special effects just to have a kid yell out "My name is James Tyberius Kirk!" Pointless considering that is the only time you see the kid. Pointles concidering Kirk gets in to a bar fight just a bit after that scene. It is a BAD MOVIE.

  • So right man, " none of us are trekkies" ses it all really..

  • Dude, your reviews are awesome !

  • U have not had to watch the tv series to get it

  • LOL

    wowowowowowowowow OH FML DAMMIT!

    lolol

  • "HEY!.....HEY!!!......HE-EYYY" HAHAHAHAHHAH sooo funny! hahahahhha

  • That part was so freaking funny. haha

  • ROFL i knw! haha

  • lol ok who say flmao really says it

  • the only people that loved this movie are people that don't watch Trek. Congrats to Abrams for turning Trek into the Bose of Scifi.

  • Oh please, my mom loves star trek and she loved this movie. I was raised on Star Trek, I loved it.

  • People who say all the action and sexual innuendo somehow 'violated' the spirit of 'real' Star Trek really need to go watch a few of the original episodes. The show was loaded down with both.

  • I know right? I love how so many things used to get past the censors.

  • No kidding. The original had enough sex, eye candy and violence for any three episodes of today's supposedly "wild" shows.

I think the gripers that the movie isn't "deep" are actually people who watched the heavy-handed and preachy Next Gen, Voyager, et al. and THINK that's how the original was.

But one thing the original makers understood was entertain first, foremost and absolutely; and work in any messages around that. Not the other way around.

  • Funny as Trekkies loved this movie too. Anything else you wish to get wrong?

  • I hate to break it to you, but I LOVED the movie have been a Star Trek fan for (showing my age) about 32 years, since I was a kid watching TOS reruns in the 1970s.

  • so funny :))

  • haha i never knew there was any tv show or anything called star trek, i just went to go watch it and it was AWESOME!

  • Part 1: Come here you little monkey!

Part 2: Come here you little monkey, or else!

  • the russian guy was the best

  • Plaid-shorts-boy is funny about eric bana

  • there is only one thing i can say about this movie. it was taylor twellman like.(means it was fucking eppic)

  • lol. hilarious starting

  • THEY ARE NOOT GAY

  • U know what the worst part the JJ did not make trowh was Scoty.

Scoty speak scotish, he did not do it in this movie! WTF!!!

  • .......? Scotty totally had a Scottish accent, what are you talking about?

  • NO you fool. It was British!

  • ....Scotland is in the British Isles, are you perhaps getting confused? There are similarities to the Northern English.

But it WAS a Scottish accent. Listen to it in comparison to the actor's native accent, which IS British.

  • The original Scotty spoke with a mediocre scottish accent since James Doohan was canadian.

  • Yeah, thats right! Why did they not make it a scottish accent in this film? Nah, they did not care.

  • Star Trek was SUPER WICKED AWSOME !!

ZACHARY QUINTO WAS AMAZING (ADORE SPOCK) <3

  • WHY?!

  • This review is bitchin! xD and Star Trek is the greatest movie EVER made in the history of all movies! Spock is STILL my favorite one of all of them n_n and the guy who played him in this movie did an awesome job =) This movie is like my heroine <333333

  • the guy who plays Spock is Zachary Quinto.

this movie is amazing, i love it!!

but i like more kirk, that's chris pine, he is absolutely HOT

  • the only reason i saw this is to get out of the house cause my step dad is a old Trekkie! lol and i loved it my friend;s mom knows zac quintos mom idk thats what her mom said and my fav part waz the bar part lolbut cap kirk is hot!!

when harry potter comes out i want ur review!

  • the cast was freaking awesome

  • "goddamn us" lmfao

  • Bana was great as Nero, I especially liked how used a low key type voice. I especially like his introductions to Pike, he just said, hmmm hi Chris I'm Nero, like you were meeting someone at dinner. I like that they still have sandwiches in the future, cause if I go back to the future, I really am going to want a sandwich when I get there. Grilled Andosian is good also but you have to grill it till its just the right shade of blue. One last thing, GREEN CHICKS, yeah baby!

  • is there goin to be a gearss of war movie

  • ErickWithNoK I completely agree, every time that midget alien came on screen I almost wet myself. "epic" was the first thing that came out of my mouth after watching it.

  • epic is definately a very good word to describe this movie with!!!!!! I also like the terms: Bitchin, stellar, fantastical, geekalicious, trekafied, super, and PERFECT BEYOND COMPREHENSION. n_n

  • I LOVE STAR TREK! only the newest movie... iashfdkajshdjkjksadjalksd. chris pine is so hot :)

  • Eric, I wanan be ur friend. You guys seem to have a lot of fun. LOL!

  • lol i love how ur friend is like bending down like hes gotta pee or something just so he can be in the shot :-)

  • First thing I thought when I saw Neero's ship: The Kraken from POTC

  • lol yea

  • lol That was funny

  • I'm not a star trek nerd, and I didn't want to watch it if even though they had zachary quinto and chris pine in it.

I was forced to watch it bc 19 year-old uncle wanted to watch for his birthday.

I thought it would be boring :p

After I watched, I actually like it bc they have a lot of hilarious parts, amazing special effects, and it's not too nerdy.

But I still dont want to watch the star trek reruns bc there are not like the movie.

  • Revamp for the win stfu LOL.

  • Star Trek was amazing the entire movie and afterwards I was like"did you SEE the special effects they were amazing!"

  • Yeah, I saw Star Trek, and I TOTALLY agree with u guys. My mom was is a total Trekkie (or whatever), and she loved it. And I have only see like clips of Star Trek, and not even the original the Next Generation ones, and I knew nothing about it except Spock was an alien (cuz of the ears) and just thought it was really good. Non-stop action, and funny. A+. Anybody who hasn't should totally go see it!!!

  • It Was Good..

    (:

  • Lol.. I love your friends. Theyre hilarious. xD Aaannnyyyways... Yeah, I went to see Star Trek the day it came out, and OMG. Okay, I was a little, itty bitty, TEENY bit of a trekkie before the movie, because my dad used to watch it like, ALL the time, and I would always watch it with him as that being our time we spend together. But yeah, anyways. Again. The movie blew my mind. Zachary Quinto was freakin amazing, and Chris Pine really made an impression on me. Kudos to Star Trek! :D
  • hella good movie and have you seen Terminator Salvation yet? Pretty good if you havn't seen it

  • If you actually watch the film, you would know the movie is intentionally different, as it is based on the idea that an alternate reality is formed because of an interfering force from the future.

  • guitarmasterrico, there is nothing to be afraid about. they cant tell you your future over the internet.u've recieved that thing about a million times and its never happened to me. spam is started either to annoy the crap outta people, or to try and see if they can create this certain....thing and convince the others to post it to basically see that they have created a message that could possibly be all over YouTube.

  • I loved the movie it was so good and I barley know anything about Star Trek. GREAT MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!

  • ahahah THE MOVIE WAS AMAZING!

lol but i didn't watch it before.

  • nice at the end.

anyway i thought that the movie was fantastic. zachary quinto(spock) was my favorite. my other fav was chris pine(kirk). i never watched it and i thought it was amazing.

  • Only problem with the plot - my sister doesn't understand consepts of time travel. If you don't get Dr Who time travel you might need someone to spend half an hour explaining it to you lol...

  • Im a big star trek fan and I loved how they made this movie so accessible for people who might not be fans. Great film.

  • Comment removed

  • hahaha oh my gosh the ending. Hilarioussss

  • For the part you said about people shitting their pants when Leonard Nimoy came out. I like screamed, and I was clapping and everyone in the theater cheered! But if you have seen the original series...the movie makes 100% more sense : ) (i'm a trekkie)

  • P.S. for the Vulcan salute you have to stick your thumb out :p

  • am i the only one who thought the movie was incredibly boring? i'm not a "trekkie" either but i actually fell asleep during the first fifteen minutes of the film.

i'm not against star trek or anything, but i just thought it was boring and not the best movie i've ever seen.

  • ahhahahah, i loved the beginning :]

  • I heard it was nothing like the TV show.... so i hate it.... and i havent seen it.... feel free to correct me, if it is like the TV show

  • dude, that movie was the best so do not say it sucked! That means you have o taste in movies

  • no, ive never seen it, i just want to know if it is like the TV show or not

  • Yes, there are a LOT of similarities to the show in a general... "feel" to the movie. It's also very different at the same time. The fight scenes are excellent but also "feel" Treky.

  • OO!

  • this movie was orgasmic

  • Wow probably the only word which really does sum it up correctly :D

  • Thanks for calling it Star Trek and not Star Track.

For not being trekkies, you sure know the Vulcan "live long and prosper" salute quire well.

  • Yeah, I read that Quinto needed a lot of time to properly do the finger split and he was not the only one having problems doing it.

  • Great Movie

  • lolol! so nerdy! Jk, that was adorable. Awesome movie, I was twitching while I was watching it
